Hi All,

I would to officially reveal MSPG Simulations next base will be RAF Lossiemouth, Moray, Scotland.

This is a busy RAF station, which will be getting even busier over the next few years. Currently home to 15 (R) Sqn, OCU for the Tornado GR4, sadly standing down on 31st March 2017. The base has a long history with the Tornado, a reason why the base was chosen as a project, plus the RAF SAR force. It is also home to three frontline Typhoon units, 1 (F) Sqn, 2(AC) Sqn and 6 Sqn.
The P8 entering RAF service, will be based here, also with the Typhoon OCU moving from RAF Coningsby in the future. Plus, a future unannounced Typhoon Unit.

The scenery will be to the same, and higher standard, than our RAF Valley release. It will be made for FSX and P3D. Custom buildings, AFCAD, ground equipment and more.

We will keep you posted on the progress, however we don't set a time scale, it will done when its done.

We also can confirm that a long term side project has also begun on another RAF Station, RAF Brize Norton. However, 'Lossie' will be a priority at the moment. More information on that when we can.

Enjoy the WIP screen shots below. Its early days, but progress has been made. Pictures from P3D.

Parking for large aircraft? Victors, Vulcans C-130s, Nimrods?

When I was a child, in the sixties,we spent a couple of summer holidays at Lossiemouth. We used to spend the day by Covesea Lighthouse usually every other day. The base was RNS Fulmar in those days flying Hunters trainers, Scimitars and Buccaneers. You would get the odd other thing flying in, Once we sat there and watched 3 Mossies fly in over the coast, I presume filming one of the motion pictures. I also remember the Karel Doorman offshore on one occasion. Happy days.

Dave, the only real big pan at Lossie is the Delta, the larger part of the 15 (R) Sqn ramp. That where all the maritime aircraft operate from during Joint Warrior. The RAF P8's will also be parked there. Not really alot of other places to park large aircraft. When RAF Voyagers or larger aircraft fly in, they end up on the disused runway! At the moment, the scenery being made how it is now.

Thanks for the sharing the memories simon :)!

There's a proposed expansion to Lossiemouth coming in the next few years to accommodate larger aircraft. I'm not sure where they are planning it for because the base is surrounded by buildings at one end and roads at the other. Should be interesting.

They are expanding Delta towards the golf course, plus the new hangars will be there too :) Only 2 or 3 HAS Hangars being using at old 12 Sqn HAS Site, so the new typhoon unit will go there. 29 (R) Sqn will then go where 15 (R) Sqn is at the moment on Charlie ramp.

We will wait and see how it goes, but most likely we'll try keep Lossiemouth up to date with the changes.

Hi Matt,

I've been searching for some really good scenery for RAF Lossiemouth but only found the UKMil addon. Doesn't seem much of an improvement over the stock FSX version...

So I was very glad to find this link but it seems you haven't yet released the download. I see that the date of your posting is Feb 2017 and wondered if you had got to the point where you can predict a release date?

Cheers,

Mark
