SSW1, thanks for the information. Quick question to clarify, since I bought the original version, the upgrade price I have to pay is 10 Euro? Also, do you have screen shots of the upgraded model & VC?

To follow up: I have the FSXX version. If I buy the P3D version, do I have to pay for full price or do I get the discount. I will buy it anyway, but I would not like to accidently pay too much.

I would need some clarification: In your feature list above, you stated the GBU-12 are vACMI-only... Does it mean the laser targeting MFD will not be available for the TacPack users ?
Why didn't you implement the standard TacPack laser targetting system, as used in the F-18 and the A-10 if I remember correctly ?

Very nice and CRG! :wavey:

Btw. I see the PANDA software too (moving map), like it was in Tornado.
Is it work as separate software (each time when we start the sim)?

I could go into some technical explanations, but I'll tell you more simply and sincerely that is "laziness" although there are some valid business reasons. :biggrin-new:

Hi,
yes and no, Harrier takes advantage of SSW Red Panda server tecnology, map display related software is external and do not use sim VAS, although there is client side inside the Harrier itself.

Ok but does it start together with sim each time (Red Panda client, so DLL file) or only when Harrier will be loaded.
Id like to know how it works now?

In Tornado for example it starts to work each time when I run FSX rom the beginning.

Hi YoYo,
RedPanda is not a client, is the server, it starts always with the sim (his call is into exe.xml), and is able to serve all clients that have the client side code to call it.
However the question is relevant since it is related to what happens if it starts and there is no clients that use it.
Nothing happens, it stays silent out of sim VAS,do not create any child process and it will be killed by the sim when it exits.
If a user wants completely uninstall SSW products it should also delete RedPanda call from exe.xml.
Since in the near future almost all SSW airplanes will be retrofitted to use RedPanda and new products will use it, we strongly hope it will never happen :untroubled:
regards
/SSW

BTW:
Using Red Panda technology we are developing NASARR 21-G radar with antenna tilt and gain control, able to reproduce exactly the real.
In air to air mode it scans and lock targets and behaves as the real thing in managing attack phases with AIM7 Sparrow.
In ground mapping mode it has all real modes, Ground Map Pencil.Ground Map Spoil, Contour Map, Terrain Avoidance and MTI as well.
Because it uses real SRTM terrain maps it computes radar shadows and depicts the terrain as it is.
Furthermore it uses also terrain reflective maps and is able to render below terrain enhancing harder radar returns.
R21-G will retrofit the F104S, after that we will develop NASARR 15A to retrofit FRF-104G
F104S version 6.0.0 MLU will be available soon.

I agree with YoYo, this should be stickied. This upgrade has brought this product to a much higher level:

Dimus, would you post a screen shot of the VC if convenient? I've held back on the SSW Harrier in the past because I already own the Razbam and SSW generally got knocked a bit for their VC quality in comparison. (FDE on the other hand.... always reported as surpassing Razbam's)

+1 here, held off as I already had one AV-8 with releasable weapons. I'm becoming more of a Tacpack snob, so your model looks to fill that gap with this unique aircraft. I'm running your Tornado to, so I would have maps.

On the vACMI program, was this made by your coders?

I don't remember for sure, but I think the codes at SSW are generated or validated by a human person, which means it could take a while during the weekends...

Stickshaker
February 11th, 2017, 00:43
On theirwebsite they say that it may take a maximum of 48 hours. Add a day to that forunforeseen troubles, to give them a little leeway, I would say, to be on the safeside.

SSW1
February 11th, 2017, 13:59
Good evening everyone,
we would like to explain the procedure by which the activation keys come to you
1. You buy the software
2. You have the download link in your account under "View my orders"
3. Download the software, many of the models that we produce are distributed in two installers:
- One contains the core files and that's what you buy
- Another contains the textures and liveries, the link to the download is free and obtainable on the page that describes the model itself
4. You install the core files, the installer shall ask you if you want the activation key (you may already have it)
5. The installer sends us the registration file tailored on your computer, typically the name contains ssw.<model name>.probe.ssw
6. We generate the key manually and dispatch it to the email address you entered into the installer prompt.
This process takes some time, sometimes it ends within minutes, sometimes even a day, depending on the time zone and office hours.
Although we continue to generate keys every day including Sunday there may be delays, of this we apologize.
Quite often it happens that email providers block our attachments containing the activation key for no reason and without notifying you, for this reason we ask you to immediately open a ticket on the help desk if you have not received the key within 48 hours, we will to attach the key to the ticket you opened.
Thank you

Hi everyone !

I'm very surprised by the general shape of the 3d model, much better than the first 2012 version that I tested, and imho even better than the competiton, which is very good. That's a very good surprise. It's not the same with the cockpit, hugely improve, but not at such an extend. That said, that's a very good cockpit.

I've some installation problems, and I do not find an installation documentation, just some docs with flight procedures. My first concern is that I must validate two dll's at each launch : first at the launch of fsx, second for the flight itself. Each time... I suppose it's not normal. I made a reinstall, with version 3.3.2, but still have the problem. An other problem is that at some point the flight pauses.

My first supposition is that I've missed something. Does someone have a suggestion before I go to the SSW support ?

Thanks !

Hi Corvette,
sometime happens that some system is misconfigured, especially if it is WIN10 with wrong or misconfigured writing permission on sim root folder.
We suggest to strictly follow instructions on:
http://www.simskunkworks.com/store/index.php/install-our-models
and take a read of FAQ here:

Guys, to my experience, any issue with SSW products, either activation or other is promptly addressed and solved via the helpdesk. They can not offer prompt assistance here as they can not monitor all posts. It seems that the somewhat complicated SSW activation procedure is the main subject of discussion in every thread about their products and their true value is not given the attention it deserves. I admit myself that I hate having to wait at least a day to be able to use my purchase, but a little patience never hurts, if this is the way they decided to protect their work.

Anyway, here is a short video of landing the AV-8B on Aerosoft's Kitty Hawk. Not a standard carrier and not standard flying, approach and landing procedure, just having fun:

Notice only than in real procedures for Harrier pilots never landing on carrier deck looks like this. The approach is from the right side (with the same speed in the final approach), not direct to carrier.
Your video reminds me my old movie with Razbam model:

http://youtu.be/svrShTkxbcM

btw. haven't yet this new model of SSW but it's on my priority list as "must to have" model in my hangar

That's why I said "non standard approach" Yo-Yo.:wavey:

I've done the standard approaches using the Ark Royal model. It is far more realistic as the deck is not angled and one can apply the sideways landing technique.

we would like to explain the procedure by which the activation keys come to you
Thank you

/SSW

I got a .probe.ssw file back from you after using your activation process, why is that?? Not very easy to open with regedit.
Edit: Fixed after half an hour by the boss :-) Way to go :-)

You don't need to open it, just double click and accept it ;)
