The 2016 Christmas sale only last another 2 days.

I took the opportunity to buy the Channel map and these two beauties. As normal in this flight simulator, I've already crashed them several times......

Nice!

When I bought ROF I bought the boxed Channel Battles Edition, so I have those two planes, but have actually never flown them. Never even seen the ocean in my ROF sim. I really like the look of the Felixstowe F2A though.

I fired up ROF the other night, but I am having issues with it ever since I started using my Warthog controller. I can't seem to be able to set up a smooth view panning control. It only works looking up and down or left and right, but not both. It is really cumbersome, and difficult to look around, which makes it less than enjoyable. I was also surprised to hear that they don't intend to support the Oculus Rift or any other VR headset. That is a shame, because it would have been one of the best sims out.

Its indeed a great sim. Like all models in RoF, the Felixstowe is a very beautiful model, but quite tricky to fly.

Huub

I couldn't resist the discounted items 'On Sale', now I need to get a grasp on flying them instead of crashing them!

Campaign mode is probably as good or better than anything to get to grips with your aircraft. From takeoff to long flights to the front, to dogfights, balloon attacks and landings, you will soon get a hang of flying within few missions. It is a very immersive sim, and in my eyes has previously given me the most pure feeling of flight through the graphics, flight dynamics and sounds. That's why I am a bit disappointed to hear they don't plan on VR support, because it would be THE most immersive flying experience. I must get in to it again anyway, I have gathered a rather large collection of aircraft over all the sales they have had in the past, and haven't spent a lot of time in many of the aircraft.

Cheers,

I also bit the bullet and went for The Channel Map, Felixstowe, Brandenburg and for good measure the halberstadt D.II.

Not had much chance to fly any of them yet though.
