View Full Version : Has anyone gotten the SDK to work in Steam?

And if do how? I've tried every trick I know can't get tools to show up.

I'm afraid you can't.
The tools are not included with the Steam Edition.

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid of that. Even tried copying over the SDK from an FSX Gold install and adding the Dll.XML by hand and adding the lines to the trusted gauges lines in the CFG file. Guess I'll have to fork over for Instant Scenery. Just got some Orbx stuff and some local scenery I made needs tweaking.

If I may offer a suggestion.
Try reading through http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/availability-of-sdk-with-fsx-steam-edition.432909/ on the FS Dev forum. Especially the entry, about halfway down the page, by Scruffyduck. You can DL and install the SDK from P3D v1.4 into FSX:SE.

Thanks Phantom that link was very helpful. Got it working using some of the info and the SDK out of my old FSX machine by pasting the one from Steam over it. I now have the tools menu working. Thanks again.
