Are these a good idea, or a dumb one?

Wings should be an award of something achieved.
We get wings at our virtual club, Cape Virtual, when we achieve our Virtual PPL. The 'cadets' we mentor, the Young Falcons, get their wings at a wings parade at the end of their 2nd year, it is a 2x year project, every second Saturday, excluding school holiday's, and those achieving their virtual PPL, get their wings, as well as a hands-on flight. We had the parade last Saturday, with 21 small aircraft, including a chopper & 4x gyro's flying about 60 kids.

So, my humble opinion, it should be a reward.
