I'm certainly tempted.. a LOT more so than by the MV Huey TBH (I'm not a TPer and that seems to be where the fun is). Always thought the Alpha/Virtavia model was poor.. especially at the full retail price. Should have been reduced or made freeware years ago. Not sure I can prise my plastic out of it's sealed container but I'll give it a lot of consideration;)

Was not tracking this one at all, thanks for the HU. Should be a good one based on the other Cera helos I have in my FS hangar. I can see getting use out of the HH-65 version.

spent little time on the new as365, model is as a cera, top notch.

only issue is that the external model windows lack reflection unlike the other cera models so i sent them an email asking about it. seems the marketing screenshots show window reflection so not sure what's going on.

pilot texture is the same as the uh60 so modified texture can be used with the 365 like here:

http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2016/11/07/365.jpg

also, the vc has a spot for the fsx default gps, which kinda sucks (their uh60 has a spot for the rxp gns530 and it was great). however, since the 365 has a radar, i placed the freeware wxr display as it really belongs there. would be nice if the gps can be placed under it...

http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2016/11/07/365wxr.jpg

VC details and textures are great, but i'll most likely tweak the color a bit so the glare shield color isn't exactly the same as the panel color.

and the autopilot seems to be functional, i can do an alt hold with hdg mode, which is quite nice.

flies ok, will spend some more time on that tomorrow. but as a afcs equipped ship, it should be fairly stable. then i'll try to put together a HTR profile for it.

they have mapped this model differently compared to the others, sadly there will be no shine on as theyre using the alpha as a transparency

anyway after a few hours examining the kit and having a play, ive started the westpac rescue helo

Pity CERA didn't modelled the original Dauphin nose, the original NHV repaint looks therefor out of place....
Non the less, the longer nose version is the one I do prefer anyway. :biggrin-new:

Yup.. how difficult would it have been. The RN use a couple of short nosed Dauphins and I wouldn't have hesitated parting with dosh. Bond have a number of the long nose versions but finding other UK registered airframes isn't easy.

Title = "Center Console"

The mouse doesn't change any of the radio switches or settings. I can make changes from the other views, but not this one.

Apparently, I cannot use the mouse with the initial xyz coordinates. If I move the view around, everything works as expected.

Guess I'll have to experiment and find some different settings.

Got response from CeraSim today - they fixed the "Glass-Thing" (one missing texture :mixed-smiley-010:) . Now it looks like a Cera-Helicopter should look - simple great. Start working on a few paints for this fine helicopter. Below you can see the first one - inspirated by Northern Helicopter, an Operator in Germany (Emden Airport).

How are they going to distribute a fix for the missing texture? Is that a simple texture fix, or with there be a re-download? I assume it would be so easy to add the missing texture to the common texture folder but I'm not sure what the update process is for Cera products.

No Radio Altimeter needle. Its more of a warning gauge. There is an adjustment to selected warning height and a light that comes on as you reach a certain altitude, but it doesn't seem to be an accurate reading. Got to play with it more.

Seems the autopilot needs some work as well.

I've done quite a few flights and played around with the AP. Works fine on a single heading and altitude, but whenever I leave the VC and go to external view it starts to wander. This evening I did a flight and used the GPS mode. When I left the VC it started to climb. Also, it doesn't do well with waypoints and really goes bonkers when it encounters one.

One thing that baffles me. Changing the interior from Medic to Passenger is nice, but it seems funny to have all those passenger seats and an external hoist. Too bad that couldn't be hidden when the passenger seats are selected.

I was wondering why some said it is sensitive in yaw. It seems rock solid to me. I wonder if you have the AFCS turned on?
In many ways it reminds me of the UH-60's flight control.
One of my favorite helicopter flights is to go to Rio and make helipad landings on the AI ships.
This one is magnificent for that, it seems if you pitch to match the ships speed it really is an easy approach until (for me at least) the pad disappears under the nose and I start bumbling around but that is my routine for helipads:fatigue:.

im not happy with the VICPOL paint I was working on there is some texture overlapping and sharing on some parts of the model that sticks out like dog balls, as seen in the purple circles

Im damned if I go on and Im damned if I dont, on a positive note Cera have maintained the same format when mapping as per their 3 other models

I should have mentioned the AI is the freeware addon by Henrik Nielsen. I don't recall what level I have set but I am sure it is at least whatever he recommends.
I like Rio not only because it is a nice looking area in FSX but there are always plenty of Mr Nielsen's AI ships at anchor or underway in and out of the harbor.

The digital readout is linked to the autopilot, put an airspeed and it will show.

You have the two missing textures in the repaint of fireball6 here. Put them in each of your textures, or better in your texture folder and you've got a fix until cera make a service pack.

@kfdw : I'm impatient to test that, especially the htr profile.

I have been wanting to get this one, so I tried a default helicopter first to test if my controls will work with a helicopter. Somehow I can not get the prop on the collective (twisting) to change the rpm with my controls. It only turns when I use the mouse, but that's a hassle.
All other control axis are configured and work fine.
I use FSUIPC for the control assignments and calibration.

My controls are:

Thrustmaster Hotas X
Joystick: ailerons/elevators for the cyclic
Throttle: for collective up/down
Extra axis on throttle handle is assigned to prop for rpm (that is not working!!)

and CH Pedals.
Rudder for anti torque

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks Joe Bob, saw that great video after returning from Oshkosh this year. Great details about the HH65 and Charlie is very good in his description of what is happening as the flight continues. Something that is interesting, I asked Charlie if he ever did some flight simulation? He mentioned he has used FSX and did some of his flight training with Prepar3D. Well my next question was do you ever go to any flight simulation forums on the Internet? He said "there was one he liked called Sim Outhouse." Couldn't help myself asking do you know who your moderator/administrator is for the FSX part of the forum? He came back with a guy named Stovall. I just smiled. He next comment was "NO not you." Yep, it is a small world. With that we became instant friends. Charlie gave myself and Mark Schimmer (Roger Wilco-66) seats in his helo. That wasn't good enough he then took us over to the U.S. Coast Guard Jayhawk sitting along side the HH65 Dolphin. Charlie made sure both Mark and I got to sit inside the cockpit of the MH-60 Jayhawk. Had to hold the helmet getting our pictures. Here are two with one more of the three of us in the next reply to the thread.

WX radar gauge
1) adding ASN/AS16 WX radar gauge to the VC panel (Dolphin is equipped with a radar)

Thanks for the mods.

I couldn't use the radar gauge as I don't have ASN. I was wondering if there's another one somewhere?

That's awesome! Just about my only regret was not going into the USCG. My recruiter sucked. Even drove 3hrs to talk with him and had 99th percentile on the tests. But, I am happy in my career and flying either way. It is really awesome to see The Mayor in his office and really showing us all how it all works. Great post.

i don't know of any, except to recommend getting as16, it's worth it.

-----------

couple of items regarding the vc texture mod HTR profile:

1) few texture sheets were not the latest ones so i'll be updating them.
2) HTR profile is being tweaked, one thing is the main rotor spin is going euro (clockwise). and trying to make it a little more responsive to cyclic input (while understanding that control input sensitivity is also a big function of the controller stick used and its calibration/response curve).

I'm certainly happy, it will be a nice addition, many thanks. And yes, there are diffencies with the real one, but it's not a N3, so you're free to create ! By the way, for tis one and the other, are you sure that the blue-white-red strip don't go higher ? Or is it the mapping problem you mentionned in another post ? Not a problem, that said. Lol Dirk, that is what I meant. Very cool. I wondered about a Flat Iron version, either the white scheme or CARC. And the white and orange scheme used by White Sands on the Huey. And a bunch of other ideas are bouncing around. Other navy paints, mimicking SH-60 schemes or SH-2. Oh, it goes on and on. U.S. Navy Test Pilot School would be neat too. I'll stop typing now or I never will.

Awesome stuff though.

Cera AS-365/HH-65 VC Texture Mod & USCG Repaint Adjustment (V1.3)

This is for the payware Dolphin from Cera simcraft. DO NOT use this texture set if you do not have a legal copy of the software.

VC Texture Mod
1) Panel color adjusted darker, placards added to panel (updated v1.2)
2) gauge color saturation adjusted
3) gauge glass reflection adjusted to best match anti-reflective coating (updated v1.3)
4) panel night light color adjusted for incandescent lighting (softer white)
5) fix excessive radio/NAV/DME display background illumination
6) overhead glass tinted dark green with internal reflection (updated v1.3)
7) external glass texture more white to better match plexiglass reflection, original version in folder "ext_window_option_darker" (new v1.3)

USCG HH-65C VC/Repaint Adjustment
1) CG orange color adjusted
2) panel night light is NVG compatible green (for USCG HH-65C)
3) ADI for HH-65C uses blue=sky/brown=ground scheme (for USCG HH-65C)
4) Pilot texture with proper HGU helmet
5) tires blackened
6) external glass texture more white to better match plexiglass reflections (new v1.3)
7) wiper blades darker shade of black (updated v1.2)
8) VC internal window reflection for aft windows added (new v1.3)

HTR Profile
1) profile v1.4 included, mainly tested with HTR v1.5, v1.6x version also supplied
a) aircraft gauge file forces autorudder off < 40kt and on >40kt so control response is unfortunately somewhat speed dependent
b) Euro rotor spin; apply right pedal as torque is increased, mostly neutral pedal at hover to maintain heading (updated v1.4)
c) VNE is about 150kts MSL, did not focus on performance envelope
d) Dolphin is equipped with AFCS so it will not be twitchy like a light helicopter, it should not behave like the Dodo 206
e) expect updates to the profile in the future
f) See HTR applet window image for recommended settings

Don't know why you think the autopilot is not working, but rest assured, it is in fact working.

However, if you view the helicopter from the outside, it will interfere with the autopilot.

I managed to hold heading, follow the GPS route( flight plan) and hold altitude. I did two flights, from Indianapolis to Elkhart County and back, testing this. It worked fine.

All in all, this is a rather nice helicopter add-on. I have the CeraSim 212 and 222 and this compare nicely with it.

My only problem is that it automatically activates auto-rudder, but that is a small gripe.

krazyj

I just got it and I'm pleased with the AP except for the heading hold..

When in heading hold, rather than banking to the new heading it just puts in yaw ( with no input on the potentiometer I might add ) onto the new heading.

I will be doing a full detailed review on it in a few days

About the digital indications (N1, N2 and IAS), I propose to make them more easy to be read:

Open the folder CSAS365 (in the Panel folder)

Make a backup of the files NG_eng1, NG_eng2 and disp_ias.xml – or a backup of the whole folder CSAS365

Open (with Notepad) the NG_eng1.xml

Replace in each element the value Color="#252223" by Color="#25B223" - save

Do the same for N2

Open the file disp_ias.xml and modify the lines :

Position X="20" Y="0"/>
Text X="200" Y="90" Length=………………..

<text x="<font color=" #ff3366"=""> Rem : IAS will be diplayed ONLY if IAS is called through the AP</text>

If you prefer the IAS to be displayed all the time then replace the line

Visible>(L:ap_ias_m, bool)
by <!--Visible>(L:ap_ias_m, bool)--> or erase that line

It is a little bit tricky - you need to cutout the part with the suits, remove the vest and than bring the saturation down to zero in Gimp. If you have done that, use the first coloring-tool (the one from above) and add the color of your choice .

Or, that is the other way, use the one that i have done ....:mixed-smiley-010:

Hi sag75, the file that i attached in the post above was only a bitmap, to use with the original Pilot-texture. Below you find a complete Pilots.dds. This one is reworked original .dds-file. Use that and have fun (Pilots have white helmets also) :mixed-smiley-010:

This looks like a pretty nice helo... I prefer KDFW's mods in the VC especially. Thanks to all the painters!

Maybe I'll have to cough up the money for it! What's the max cruise speed?

kdfw
December 7th, 2016, 18:17
vne is around 150kts.

------------------------

for those using the HTR profile for the as365:

the model forces 'on' auto-coordination > 40kias and forces it 'off' <40kias. this results in abrupt yaw action at the transition point which is rather annoying and requires constant pedal input at slow speeds.

as this is an aircraft equipped with sas/afcs, it should be stable and hold heading without pedal input when main rotor torque is constant.

so, to get around this, you can edit the psystem.xml file in the \Panel\CSAS365\ folder.

*** make a backup or the original psystem.xml file before editing ***

1) open the psystem.xml using notepad
2) do a string search on "(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 >" this will be at the tail end of the file
3) change the section

from

(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 > if{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) } els{ 0 (>L:autocord, bool) }
(L:autocord, bool) if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) ! if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }
(L:autocord, bool) ! if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }

to

(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 > if{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) } } <!-- //els{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) } // -->
<!-- // (L:autocord, bool) if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) ! if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }// -->
<!-- // (L:autocord, bool) ! if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }// -->
<!-- // (L:autocord, bool) if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) ! if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }// -->
<!-- // (L:autocord, bool) ! if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }// -->

then save the file.

this change will force auto-coordination 'on' only when ias is > 40kias but you can also turn 'on' auto-coordination with a key stroke (or key assigned to hotas) at lower speeds. as a bonus, HTR users can turn on autohover by turning on/off/on auto-coordination as described in the HTR manual.

I have a feeling that the aircraft not banking while on AP is somewhere in this code

(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 > if{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) }}

(L: pfcs_l1_sw, bool) (L: pfcs_l2_sw, bool) || if{ 1 (>L:mast_ap_ch, bool) } els{ 0 (>L:mast_ap_ch, bool) }

Thanks Sag. No joy with that. Looking at the fine print again to see where I screwed up. Something is not right, that's for sure.

Hi did you check wind speed? Cerasim support suggested me to set it below 5 kts.

Could you please tell me better about the problem? So you turn on battery, generators, inverters.. and switch yellow engines levers on Flt.. but engines (watch engines' panel) are not starting up? Did you try pressing Ctrl+E continuosly?

Engines are not starting up. Tried the Ctrl+E as well. Nothing. I'm becoming more convinced it's something to do with the Steam version, or possibly with windows 10, although I have several other helicopters, and a number of fixed wing that work just fine.
Thank you for your comments and suggestions.

Still waiting on a response from Carasim.My theory is that some helos are a pain to start because of my default flight which is the stock Cessna in a 'cold and dark' state.

Anyways, here's my quick and dirty way to get the engines up and running.

First step is to turn on the battery with a keyboard shortcut. I've assigned Shift+V for that.
Second step is to open up the menu with Shift+1 and select 'Ready to Fly'
Last step is the keyboard command Ctrl+Shift+F4 which sets the mixture to full rich. Make sure your throttle is set to 0%, of course.

Don't ask me why or how, but it works for me. I haven't tried the manual start, at least not until someone puts together a nice 'how-to' video.

Cheers :very_drunk:

Defaulted the Cessna and fired it up. Changed AC to the 365 and found the engines up and running, clicked on the quick start to make sure all the switches a on.
Thank you very much guys for all your help.

"We are improving our product, We can not increase the bank, this will cause problems in the flight dynamics"

surely there must be a way around this as other aircraft are able to do this ?

thoughts anyone ??

It is not possible - the Developer use only one glass-texture for all windows. Intern glass-textures are splitted and so it is possible to give them an other color .

Hello,
My name is Tino Broekstra and I am owner and chief editor of the Dutch FS related website www.fsvisions.nl (http://www.fsvisions.nl)
In Prepar3D I do fly most of the times with helo's and the AS365 is one of the helo's I do use.

I do have a question about the usage of the TSS Dauphin sound package, I used to use wit the AlphaSim Dauphin.
When I install the TSS sound into the CeraSim Dauphin, I get a repeatingly startup sound. This will continue as long as I do fly the Dauphin, so it will never stop.
I asked TSS if there is a solution, but sad.ly they don't answer my mails.
Does anyone here at the SOH fourms know how to get the sound into the CeraSim Dauphin?

Thanks in advantage.

I have an all new sound system specifically designed for the Cerasim AS365 as well as the older FS2004 freeware models. I am currently reworking the FDEs for the Cerasim bird to give a longer rotor startup and spooldown. Give me some time to get these finished up and I'll upload the package. And yes, it sounds like the real deal ;)

Does this mean, the TSS sound is not going to work with the CeraSim bird?

If you need someone to test the FDE and sound system, please feel free to ask ;)

Please keep me in the loop concerning your package and when it will be available for download. I will mention the release also on my website if you agree.

Hi, does anybody of you know how to use the trim button on the stick?

ThomasAH
December 31st, 2017, 05:59
for those using the HTR profile for the as365:

the model forces 'on' auto-coordination > 40kias and forces it 'off' <40kias. this results in abrupt yaw action at the transition point which is rather annoying and requires constant pedal input at slow speeds.

as this is an aircraft equipped with sas/afcs, it should be stable and hold heading without pedal input when main rotor torque is constant.

so, to get around this, you can edit the psystem.xml file in the \Panel\CSAS365\ folder.

*** make a backup or the original psystem.xml file before editing ***

1) open the psystem.xml using notepad
2) do a string search on "(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 >" this will be at the tail end of the file
3) change the section

from

(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 > if{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) } els{ 0 (>L:autocord, bool) }
(L:autocord, bool) if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) ! if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }
(L:autocord, bool) ! if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }
to

(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 > if{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) } } <!-- //els{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) } // -->
<!-- // (L:autocord, bool) if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) ! if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }// -->
<!-- // (L:autocord, bool) ! if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }// -->
then save the file.

this change will force auto-coordination 'on' only when ias is > 40kias but you can also turn 'on' auto-coordination with a key stroke (or key assigned to hotas) at lower speeds. as a bonus, HTR users can turn on autohover by turning on/off/on auto-coordination as described in the HTR manual.

After this change, auto rudder is disabled, but nothing will automatically be enabled above 40 kias, because L:autocord is set, but never used. At least I did not find any other references in the panel or model.

What should happen above 40 knots?

this is for using htr with this model--when htr is used, one would turn on autocoordination (via realism menu, key press, or in my case, key mapped to hotas) to simulate afcs. the mod to the xml above is to prevent autocoordination from being disabled when going below 40kts.

also, when the autocoordination key is double clicked, it will allow autohover.

Ah, I understand ... so the plan is that nothing should happen at all, in which case the smallest required edit is to add <!-- before and --> after the code block:

<!--
(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knot) 40 &gt; if{ 1 (>L:autocord, bool) } els{ 0 (>L:autocord, bool) }
(L:autocord, bool) if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) ! if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }
(L:autocord, bool) ! if{ (A:AUTO COORDINATION, bool) if{ (>K:AUTORUDDER_TOGGLE) } }
-->

(I'm a big fan of small changes, because they make it more clear what actually happens, and they are easier to add/remove :))

By the way, thank you for your VC mod and the HTR profile, this is a very helpful addition for this helicopter!

Good day,

Digging this one up in pursuit of a livery - also in light of the fact that the Dauphin is now compatible with P3D4.2 in addition to the existing FSX product.

I see a German Notarzt livery in black, red, and white featured in post #59 earlier in the thread from a couple years ago now (as posted by Rebo). Is it possible to make this available to the public?

Additionally, considering the fact that Aussiex.org is still down unfortunately, are liveries hosted there available anywhere else? To add to this aussiex inquiry, have those liveries been updated to reflect the paint mapping adjustments from the patch as of a few months/year ago?

Thx, the next will be of Chile and Brazil I suppose ;).

Btw.
Someone tried to change this defualt GPS (500) for GNS 530 of Flight1? The size of 3D looks near the same.
I also saw free Roland's mod for Weather Radar (ASN and ASP3Dv4) but it doesn't work for me on P3Dv4.3 and ASP3Dv4 v.6773 (https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/512672-wx-radar-gauge-x64-for-as16asp4-and-p3dv4/).
Pity that CeraSim didnt use multiple option for panels and WXR like MilViz/REX for example. KDFW's video with this mod: https://youtu.be/cI4SrVBg6ss?t=17
