Good day,

I have just uploaded to SOH my newest project, aerodrome of Suwalki Flying Club located in NE Poland, which is called our "North Pole" sice there are the lowest temperatues is the whole country (maybe excluding Tatra Mountains ;) )
The scenery features:
- hi res. object textures based on original photos
- 1m/pix photo texture with seasonal variations
- Flying Club objects + Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (Rescue) hangar
- vector drawn landclass for the city, Wigry lake and forests
- scenery switcher, as the fsx trees don't handle seasonal changes, located in the aerodrome folder
- two versions of the afcad file (with "classic" runways and with "clean" photoscenery - so the width is set to 0 meters)
- apron and aerodrome road done in 3D using superb tutorial by Bill Womack (thanks, Bill!!)

Have fun,

Lucas:wave:

Great looking scenery! Makes me cold just looking at it. I like those bunnies particularly. :icon_eek:

:D Thanks!

Bill, those bunnies were animated using "ambient" animation key. However, they were running too fast, so I decided to leave the "static objects" :d They are placed somewhere around the aerodrome.

The way you're building all these airfields Lucas, I'll never be leaving Poland soon:costumes::applause:

Thank you again. I want to create another aerodromes in the N part of the country, including Olsztyn and Ketrzyn. The last one should be familiar for those of you interested in the WW2 history, since the "Wolf's Lair" was located nearby.

PS: I've uploaded it to Avsim and Simviation. Hopefully it will be availble soon.

Got it Lucas, another superb job, my third piece of Polish scenery for FSX from your stable. :applause:

You know, of all of the aircraft from FS9 that I ported over, Manuele Villa's SVA series are the only ones that get frames rates on par with FSX native aircraft. As far as I know, I have changed nothing either, merely installed it raw and then my repaints. Flying Lucas's scenery in perfect Spring clear skies gave me 45 fps constant. And one has to admit, they are exquisitely beautiful in FSX! :applause:

Caz,
Both of Oliver Fischer's models give excellent frame rates in FsX.

Thank you Cazzie! Iam glad that you like the scenery. Yes, Manuelle's SVA is a masterpiece!
If you like vintage aviation (i know you do!) make sure you have both floatplane base in Puck and old Warsaw aerodrome called "Pole Mokotowskie" or Mokotow Airfield. Both were created even before WW1, so they are some dedicated places to start with your favourite old bird. You can found them on avsim. Search for "Lukasz Kubacki".

Thanks again!

Oh Roger, you just know that Herr Fischer's Bu-131 is in all three of my sims! :ernae:

And Lucas, I already have the Pole Mokotowskie aerodrome. :applause: But I went to get Puck from AvSim this morning and all lines were busy. I shall try again at a more opportune time.

It looks fantastic Lucas!
Unfortunately i have to reinstall FSX and everything else. I'm installing the whole day but there is no end in sight...:faint:
Anyways, thanks, great work again and i'm looking forward to fly there!

My main FSX HD crashed and i'm not a backup-fanatic. My new HD is much faster, but i lost everything. I better don't think about it...

Why is this thread not sticky?

Nils - which An-2 is it? How does it work in FSX? I assume it's port-over, I haven't seen native An-2 yet.

Xomer's (Anton Nikolaev) Anna. She works perfectly with a few tweaks.
Don't ask me which tweaks because it's been a while since i ported her. Fortunately i have my portovers on a separata HD.
A native An-2 from the Simhangar team would be awesome :ernae:
I would pay for her. One of my favorite aircraft.

I love An-2 too. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to make another complex plane right now, but after Orlik release, who knows :)

:)

BTW, Nils, in the EPSU_X foled you will find some scenery switcher which will turn winter trees on or off. Great idea with the Antonov. I love this plane, too, but my skills are too low :( I can only make some scenery addons.

Lucas

Edit: Xomer's An-2 is one of the reasons I still keep 2004 on my HD. I love the complexity of this freeware bird. Plus there are many PL flying clubs paintschemes.

 Thanks for the winter texture reminder, Lucas! We also need fantastic freeware sceneries but i'm sure you would be able to make also a fantastic An-2 :)

I'm looking forward to the Orlik - any news?

I have most gauges already done (without most complex ones :173go1:), but there is a lot left to do. Right now I've started to learn C++, I need to change few variables in FSX, and it's possible with SimConnect only...

February 12th, 2009, 05:58
I will not make an An-2, not a chance, sorry. My skills are really too low. However, we are thinking about something else: to make An-2 AI traffic with native An-2 and paintkit, so everyone could use it and make dedicated AI packs. FSX is lacking native AI :(

Nice touch with the bunnies

lucas81
February 12th, 2009, 10:11
I should add some elk, fox or whatever else :) Those bunnies were animated, but were moving too fast and were hardly visible. Even now, they are hidden in one of the scenery "corners".

Ai would be also great! Especially if she would be compatible with the RATS repaints.

BTW:

There are some more WIP airfields in progress:

EPNT Nowy Targ (it is a FSX version of the well known Tatra Project for FS2004)
http://www.simhangar.nets.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=40

EPRU (former EPCH) in Rudniki, near Czestochowa
http://www.simhangar.nets.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57

Both have completed 3d. The first one is awaiting for some final touches, the second needs phototexture variations and autogen. They are being prepared by our friend, Marek, who has already built the Puck floatplane base.
More on www.simhangar.com (http://www.simhangar.com) and on simhangar's forum, where are listed other projects.

I had a plan to make few buildings and other objects and make them available for free, both mdl, and gmax files, but I don't have enough time right now :/

JT8D-9A
February 15th, 2009, 07:40
That sounds familiar and reminds me to some autogen i have to finish
But creating sceneries would be a lot easier with useful library objects - i hate the default objects more and more...

empeck
February 15th, 2009, 10:13
You're making custom autogen objects?

JT8D-9A
February 16th, 2009, 07:39
No, only planting of trees and buildings i had planned but...
I hope someone more talented than i will replace the FSX autogen and library objects someday.

Lucas, i switched the winter bgl and textures but i get also green trees.

In any case, here is some service pack .bgl ;) Please put it into EPSU_X/_Seasons/Winter and also into your EPSU_X/Scenery
