A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 1 Aircraft Add-Ons

Description: Upgraded version, with corrected canopy, and improvements in flight dynamics and visual model as regards minor bleeds, as well as authentic panel by Guy Gauvreau and instruments, specially featuring the custom Turbine RPM Gauge and ammo counters. This release depicts the original "Yellow 4" Heinkel He-162-2A 1944 jet fighter-interceptor acquired by the German Technical Museum in Berlin around 2012. It was built by Heinkel Flugzeugwerke, who called it "Spatz" (sparrow). Project name was "Salamander", and government propaganda called it "Volksjäger" (people´s fighter). Built mostly of wood, as raw materials became scarce towards the end of WWII, its single dorsal 1764 flb BMW 003E-1 single-spool axial-flow turbojet engine gave a top continuous speed of 521 mph, and 562 mph in short 2028 flb boost bursts. 250 units were built only 3 months before the end of the war, but did not affect the outcome. After WWII, the design became the basis for jet aircraft development in several countries. Famous test pilot William Benson called the He-162 a first class fighter aircraft. Smooth movements on the part of skilled pilots are required to control this aircraft. This release has been revised and improved for CFS1 and includes SCASM-corrected virtual cockpit, AFX, PCX and SCX source files.
