So any idea or update to mix 1 payware GPS with stock radio :-) ? For Example
F1 GTN 750 + stock radio (not only 750+650 option) or F1 GNS 530 + stock radio or gray empty plate.

As summary for patch too:
- turn indicator
- glossy tires

YoYo, thank you very much. I will do a V2.0 or an update. Turn indicator and glossy tires are set. Marcel will rework his soundset a bit. And I am thinking about a more mixture of avionics. Waiting also for SDK of F1 GNS to implement 3D functionality. Check El Super Ad (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?el-super/) and Family Dollar Ad (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?family-dollar/). But you have to know, these things are not easy to do.

I was able to start the engine by pressing shift+f4 for mixture rich before starting... the lovely FS bug from a long time ago hehe.

A few bug reports.

1) No lubber line on the HSI (hard to tell what your heading is)... here's an example of HSI diagram, lubber line is usually white.

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r43/ryanbatc/More%20FS/hsi.jpg (http://s141.photobucket.com/user/ryanbatc/media/More%20FS/hsi.jpg.html)

2) Turn coordinator is backwards... here in a right bank, the airplane should be tilted to the right.

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r43/ryanbatc/More%20FS/soloytclubber.jpg (http://s141.photobucket.com/user/ryanbatc/media/More%20FS/soloytclubber.jpg.html)

3) No glide path indication during a RNAV (GPS) approach with LPV (WAAS) minimums. I did engage APR mode and the autopilot flew it down so I'm thinking just the indication is missing - maybe some xml code?

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r43/ryanbatc/More%20FS/nogs_LPV.jpg (http://s141.photobucket.com/user/ryanbatc/media/More%20FS/nogs_LPV.jpg.html)

4) On HDG mode, on autopilot, the aircraft heading bug is stuck at 360. I can't change my heading.

5) The altitude select will get stuck and I can only change it by 1000's of feet.

Hey Ryan, et al
You probably already have a solution to this as you know about it from before, but what I found worked for me (now this is in FSX - this might work in P3D, not sure) is to use a default aircraft as your default start up scenario, and MAKE SURE that the fuel selector is set to BOTH before you save the flight. When I go to save a new default, I'll rotate the fuel selector through all positions then set it to BOTH (you do not want to use an aircraft that has only Left or Right as a default as it too can cause issues) just to make sure the fuel selection in FSX has been initialized. Then save your flight as default. Then if you load an aircraft for your next flight (even if you don't actually load the sim fully with the default aircraft, i.e. you choose your a/c for the upcoming flight in the Welcome screen) your fuel will be on. If you load an aircraft for your upcoming flight that does have a fuel selector switch, simply exercise it once before engine start and you should be good to go, although that step isn't strictly necessary.

If your last flight was with an aircraft with only a L or R fuel selector position, then when you load FSX for your next flight, I'd let the default aircraft fully load before you switch to the aircraft you want for the current flight. The stock 206 is one of those with a L or R only position (IRL anyway), so if the Soloy machine is the same way, then fully load your default flight/aircraft before switching aircraft for your current flight.

The problem with the L/R positions only, is FSX only sees the last given fuel selector position. So even if you shut FSX down and then reload with an aircraft that doesn't have fuel selector positions (i.e. the XP Lear), you'll only be running on whatever tank was selected in the previous flight (sounds dumb, and it is, but it is that FSX bug you were talking about). I would end up running that tank dry then BOTH engines would quit until I figured out what was going on. Following the above will alleviate that problem.

Anyway, you probably already know all this but hopefully this all makes sense and that it helps those who have run into a problem with engines not starting or quitting in midair for no apparent reason.

Here's a small gauge that should take care of any mixture issues in the C206 (or any other aircraft with 1 to 4 engines). Simply add the line from the .txt file to the end of the [VCockpit01] secion of the panel.cfg.

Ryan, great findings. To

1. I just check it out in my model - what should I say - mea culpa - I simply forgot this important little piece of part when modelling.
Will be fixed!

2. known and on my current patch list

3 + 4. This is a bit curious for me. Glide path display is there and working well with standard gauges, also in combination of "standard" freeware GNS 530/430 - I have no sdk from F1 to implement IFR with their big improvements in direction of LPV/RNAV or any other things corresponding with my Benix/King KI525 (I only got sdk for the switches for GTNs). I am really sorry, but I have no idea without special informations to solve it. Keep in mind I am a freeware man, this is my first FSX/P3D airplane.

Yes, YoYo is right - it is hard coded - why? Newer P3D Versions have a different display of reflections like FSX. With hard coding no further textures are needed. And at least I do not like unreal looking aircrafts with super gloss or high reflections. I know, thats a bit short thinking.

But I will to try out, if it is possible to release the patch with spec. textures.

A personal problem but may be of interest to others. My mouse, a Logitech G602, won't perform the wheel functions for turning on the Garmins, the two rotating light controls and the pitch bar on the AH. If I right click the 'c' on the Garmins, they come on but are dim - clicking the radio lgt control brightens them. Both light controls pop out with clicks but the panel/pedestal does nothing else. The spot on the Artificial Horizon, to adjust the pitch bar up or down, does nothing. As I said, an apparent mouse problem though it works fine otherwise.

Thomas, congratulations on creating such a wonderful aircraft, and many thanks for making it available to the community. I can see this getting a lot of use, my old C185 bush plane could be heading into retirement.

I've noticed a small point though that I haven't seen anyone else mention; in the amphibian/float version, there is a gear warning horn that goes off when the throttle is idle and the gear is not down. So if just sitting in the water, even on startup, with the engine in idle the horn is going off - presumably it shouldn't be, under these conditions? The only ways I can stop it are to increase throttle to ~10%, or put the gear down in the water. I can't find any control to silence the gear horn, nor could I find any mention in the manual. I had a look in the sound and panel files but I couldn't find anything obviously associated with the horn. Any suggestions how to stop it?

However, this is a small point and doesn't detract from a great aircraft! :applause:

Ok decided to do one repaint. Here is preview only, wip still. Its a "famous" SE-KRD (yes, this skin with this teeths!). Sweden.
Many improvements: better resolutions and details (wheel, tires, steps ect). Totaly new "mouth and eyes" from the beginning. Weathering effects + shadowing.
Its near finish but it will wait for possibility to add alpha channels (so new mdl). I hope You like it.

Ryan, about your heading bug problem - please turn off blue GPS back to green NAV sign on upper avionics area. It switches between loaded flight plan GPS/NAV. This could happen, if you have an active flight plan/special situation loading in start situation. But now this should clear now. It has nothing to do with loaded GTN in background. If you have NAV displayed, you can turn Heading as you like.

Anyway, another bug is fixed: it is the ILS glide slope indicator on Bendix KI525. At least it was a coding error. Mea culpa. I hope it will run also with RNAV mode with GTN or GNS.

And perhaps we will have reflexions controlled by alpha on exterior textures. But this could be a nightmare, because FSX and P3D3+ display reflexions on textures in a different way. And it would be nice, if repainters could do repaints for both FSX or P3D3+. In FSX it works great. YoYo I will try my best. Nice pictures of SE-KRD.

Thomas, FSX and P3D uses the same textures (alpha, spec) BUT for P3D is a "lights texture" slider in menu.
If it will work on in FSX it will work ok in P3D without problem I think. I never heard about two kind textures for both sim :).

Thomas I'm with YoYo on this. The texture work for FSX will work perfectly in P3D. There is no basic difference for repainters. Yes P3D displays differently because it has incorporated additional lighting options and there may be additional options open to repainters for P3D, but someone doing a general repaint for FSX doesn't necessarily have to do two different versions, one for each sim.

When this flag is set to True for P3Dv3, this enables global environment map reflections. You can actually see the runway strips, clouds, building, etc. on the aircraft.

Here's a newly compiled mdl by Manfred showing the difference with reflection for FSX models. Same texture set for both aircraft, nothing changed. Alphas and specs need to be changed to adapt to the new (test) mdl for the bottom pic (bright model).

Hello Soloy-Friends,

nearly 4.000 users worldwide just downloaded Soloy until today. But the development is not finished. I am just working on a patch. Following things are on my list:
...

- Sounds - fix idle to full power
- Flap-sounds to a more realistic volume

Thomas

Another sound fix that's relatively minor, is to make the starter motor whine loop properly, here's my version that I edited for my personal copy, the timing between each ignition fire won't be right since I have no access to an actual U206 to compare, but it's better than nothing:

Yes, YoYo is right - it is hard coded - why? Newer P3D Versions have a different display of reflections like FSX. With hard coding no further textures are needed. And at least I do not like unreal looking aircrafts with super gloss or high reflections. I know, thats a bit short thinking.

But I will to try out, if it is possible to release the patch with spec. textures.

Thomas

I dont know how such things work, but perhaps its possible to just "turn down" the reflectivity in the mdl itself? Its a little too shiny IMHO. Otherwise...AWESOMENESS.

YoYo I think the photo that I put up was before it was converted for skydiving
I notice the skydive version has thundra wheels and only running a 3 blade prop
but never mind any version would be great thanks

So looks like VH-CZR has/had two version:
skydive bigwheel version with 3 blades and normal wheels with big door and with 5 blades.

Downloaded earlier this week and spent three days flying the different versions offered and found this Cessna-Soloy a brilliant aircraft to fly, once trimmed out with hands off it remains an extremely stable platform and turns, landings and take-off are a delight.:applause:

Found that it helps if the aircraft is weaved slightly during taxying due to the hump in the nose which blights part of the forward view and also found that to start taxying open the throttle slightly and once the aircraft moves it is easier to use the prop lever to increase or decrease speed whilst taxying to/from the runway.

Really enjoy flying this aircraft and like to thank all of those who worked hard to release this and looking forward to many hours of enjoyable flying ahead.

Regards
Nigel.

nice little aircraft here! Thank you!

I have an issue with the HSI though, not sure whats caused it but its stuck and wont rotate as the aircraft turns.

Im still trying to figure out how to stop the float plane version once landed. I chop throttles and put propeller pitch to zero and it still will taxi at 30 knots on water. It will only stop if I kill the fuel.

I use my mixture control as a condition lever (didn't change setting it's just what the sim uses it as) and reduce the condition to around a taxi level once landed and it stips pretty quick. Also added a little drag to the float model.

Hmmm, strange, I havent problem like this. Throttle back and 10-15 knots for taxi. Sametimes I use brake (both) to slow down and you can take all control : ).

I am having problems using this in p3d v3.3, I installed into my p3d system but when I start up the system (fresh start going directly to the soloy) I repeatedly get a dialog that pops up that says

Error Encountered
MMSystem - Unspecified Error
Full Error Code 0x88780078
Location 10
File

I also get a green message bar across the top that says:

[1008] ERROR: Thread: DirectSoundCreate() failed. br=0x88780078

The only thing different about my system that stock is I have a lot of ORBX scenery installed and I setup a folder outside of the base install folder where my custom aircraft are installed.

EDIT:

I just tried it in FSX, it asked if it can trust the sound guage and then gave me the same error dialog as above and FSX quit, so its not just P3D related.
Sorry, my bad, it was my flakey sound card again that stopped working, power off, power on fixed it. Sorry for the distraction.
