One of the Tubeliners I've been waiting for, but one I might hang off on until the inevitable bugs are sorted.
Here's hoping for a good paint kit, this aircraft was well used and has a vast number of color schemes for the re-painters to get stuck into.

Looks good! Six months ago I would've been all over this from day 1, but since Bjoern's excellent FSX conversions of DM's 1-11s, I'm having a difficult time convincing myself to part with the cash. Maltby's models still hold quite nicely nearly a decade after release.

I'd be curious to hear initial impressions of the JF version, though. It's nice to see a new steam-gauged jet released, and I'm always glad to see a developer take the time to create such planes.

"Separate Virtual Cockpits for the 300/400 and the 500 models are included, with the Smiths flight system in the 500 Series models instead of Collins, the hydraulic panel relocated to the overhead panel and roof-mounted panel switches operating UP for ON instead of down."

Umm...JF, you modeled yourself a 510ED there, which was BEA-exclusive. Most of the 500s pretty much looked like the shorties in the cockpit.

Questions for the fearless volunteers:
- Switch sounds?
- Loading/saving of custom variables?
- Rain on windshield?
- Realistic fuel system operation?

Looks ok, not sure about it though, I am with mgchrist the FSX upgrade of DM's does fine for me at the moment, not that I use it much. A least I have the liveries I want for this model, which is the RAAF VIP fleet and Air Pacific/Fiji Airways who were the users of this beast in this part of the globe. Guess we will see on the issue of bugs and problems that arise to be charitable there may be hardly any, maybe!

Made a first flight with it today......... will test it some more over the week to come and report back here. I don't have the other one mentioned, so cannot compare. I DO like it on first glance, what with the steam cockpit ! Flies very easy..... installed it in my FSX 'Steam' without problems.

So far from what I have gathered, it's a fine model. I will add it to my list of must-buys as I have seen a real 1-11 in person a few times but for now, I have other purchases on my priority list. The Spey engine sounds are spot on!

Roger, none of the beta testers running DX10 reported any problems. I am running P3D V3.4 with DX11.

If not to much trouble, I would like to ask if any painter out there will be willing to do a LIAT repaint of the JF BAC 1-11 500 Model. Thanks in advance. Here's a link to the livery http://www.airliners.net/photo/LIAT-Leeward-Islands-Air-Transport-%28Court-Line%29/BAC-111-518FG-One-Eleven/150229/L

I have been able to make a start on an RAAF BAC 1-11 300 the weekend. Depending on time it should be up by the end of the week.

Hi! I made a correction to a incorrectly align texture in the TBA repaint. The temporary link is: https://mega.nz/#!ycJxBQoA!tlWlzNOd3...OgRdk0tf2V6Y5c (https://mega.nz/#%21ycJxBQoA%21tlWlzNOd3AEjAITsmIKfQFtPSbXlYOgRdk0 tf2V6Y5c)
I´ll talk with SOH library manager to update the uploaded package. Sorry for the mistake.

Would a repaint of G-ASYD be possible in her current livery at Brooklands.

Well I do like this one now having fixed a few issues with this JF version it is now quite comparable to the DM version (well not quite) and is a worthy replacement. I accept that it only provides the 300/400 and 500 versions but it is more stable on the ground and not quite as twitchy in the air as the DM version so I think they got it right this time. I have kept some specific DM versions, namely the 200 and 475 but the others have been retired to the hangar.

My only question is does anybody know how to integrate an addon WX radar into the VC panel? the panel files are incorporated into the model so you can only get a 2D pop operative and have to look at the dead VC version on the panel. JF have provided no answers or advice so far.

Bjoern

If the WX radar screen in the VC is not mapped with a gauge poly, there is nothing you can do.

BendyFlyer
November 20th, 2017, 00:52
Thanks Bjoern thought it might be the case, JF have confirmed is not mapped to the mdl files, dopey thing to do, go to all that trouble building the area in the VC and doing the textures and then not putting something there. Flight Replicas managed to do it and allowed you to put radar in various models of the North Star. Sigh!

Martyn

The VC does have a mapped WXR poly for use with third-party radars. See my reply here - http://forum.justflight.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=31021&title=weather-radar

Thanks
Martyn
