Hi Buddha,

The blue one there in your original post looks like a DH60 moth but looking under 'alpha oldies' I couldn't find it. What is the file name for that one?

Hi all,

The Moths title is ALPHA Gipsy Moth ZS-ADB.According to the read me it was made to work in both CFS1 and 2.

Hi Buddha13!

Could you give us a link to follow. I went at Alpha Sim and couldn't find the DH.

Concerning the "transparency-translucency" problem, it is not simply a texture-related issue but rather a rendering technique called "Z-buffering" that came on with CFS2 and FS2K later a/c.

Under CFS1 and FS98, designer had to (and in the case of Ivan and me still do) "glue" parts and assign them to showing groups so that, for example, the wings would not "bleed" through the canopy.

Z-buffering adds a set of instructions to the model giving part's position relative to each other and, most importantly, to the viewer: you.

On the plus side, it facilitate the job of designer under FSDS who don't have to hit their heads against the wall to find the "perfect" gluing sequence.

On the minus side, it makes rendering of these a/c under CFS1 problematic, even sh*t* :barf: !

Her is a picture of an award winner Harrier II made for CFS2 under CFS1.

I rest my case.
