Hi Falcon
This is Twichell Field, Auburn, Maine. I took my first flight lesson in a J3 Cub on the grass strip (that was the only strip) in 1957. I would love to see you tackle this one!

p.s. The road at the end of the runway leads to the float base on the Androscoggin River, leading to Lewiston, Maine, my hometown.

I like the looks of it. I'll see what I can do and how much reference material I can find as far as buildings and so on.

Here's what I have thus far:

Default airport in FSX, Orbx Basic, Vector Basic and NA Land Class.

Satellite image of entire area to be included. Will require some color correction and water area will be default water. . . .looks rough but it's not really.

Only problem right now is a total lack of any worthwhile photos of the airport. No idea what any of the buildings look like.

Just to update, I have the ground texture and autogen vegetation in place. I have all but two of the main airport buildings done and ready to place. I went to a standby source for ground level images of airport buildings. . .Pilot videos of take offs and landings at Twitchell. When all else fails I can normally get enough shots of airport buildings by pausing the video as aircraft pass by the buildings. . .either taxiing or taking off and landing. . . .I got enough reference from the still shots to do a decent representation of all the main buildings.

Next will be the Buildings and docks for the Float Plane Base,

Just outstanding, I can't wait ! You KNOW this is going to be my home base. Very much appreciated Falcon.

p.s. You did an outstanding job on Miller Field!

A few early WIP images. Still a lot to do, but the Float Plane Area is a major part of this airport, so various dock setups will be available for parking and two runway options will also be in place.

Ed you rock! you do a great job on these airports.i fly from my home town of Auburn Cal always..but this has inspired me to try to collect as many airports,or to atleast find them,in or near all "Auburn's" in the US and then fly from my "base" and airport hop around the US with my "land-take off" at those airports..:untroubled:

Agreed Roger:encouragement:

It's a very long way from my normal flying area but I like the look of that and having both runway and float base just a walk up (or down) the road opens up many possibilities.
