Flight Replicas is pleased to annouce that we will soon be releasing the Zlin 526F. A distinctive aircraft known for excelling as both as a basic trainer and as a fairly high-skill aerobatic performer, the 526F has been around
since 1959 and yet continues to be a very active member of the aerobatic world. Check Asda Offers (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?asda/) and Aldi Offers (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?aldi/). As soon as the Flight Replicas website has been updated, the Manual will be available as a free download, and so you'll be able to see just
what this little aircraft is capable of.

The quality of the 3D model (and textures) seems really good, as expected from FR ;)
However, this plane (in real life) is really not my cup of tea. Bad luck for me, I'll have to wait for your next project :)

Looking good in P3Dv3 also. :)

The Zlin also comes with Polish, Czech, German and English cockpit placards, which can be interchanged, plus a .psd so that placards can be made in other languages as well, if so desired.

It should work with all versions. If something does come up, then of course we'll fix it.

The Zlin's web page is now up, along with more screenshots, and a free copy of the Manual can be downloaded, but the aircraft won't be available just yet as everything needs to be checked one last time, plus the store itself needs its own pages to be created. But we're almost there! :)

And as ever, the Zlin will be available on the Flight Replicas website only, for the first couple of weeks, so that if anything needs changing it can be taken care of before uploading to the other vendors.

Nicely written manual too Mike. One thing that really struck my fancy was the placards you place in this aircraft. I used be a part owner of a Cessna 140 and 152...I had to make a placard holder for it and never flew without notes. I also noticed that you included the shaker effect at idle...very realistic!

Nice to see this beautiful bird on the virtual skies, congrats for the choice! :)
Now, we have an opportunity to made some formation flights with Z-142 that me and my friend give to the FS-community. ;)

Your Z-142 is amazing zlin! I need to reload it and take it for a spin. I think I'll be getting that 526F too. Love the features and those little details like the placards and stuff. Mike always does a good job. His SuperCub series is one of my all time favorites.

Thanks everybody. :)

@Airtrooper : When looking up 526 photos on the web, almost every aircraft was rather meticulously looked after, and so no 'worn cockpit' textures are included. However, there is a paint kit, and so the VC textures can certainly be modified!

@Txnetcop : The more info available, the better! Especially when doing aerobatics, I would think, except I hope one would have pretty much memorized the relevant aircraft speeds by that point....

@ zlin : Thanks, but I'm afraid I didn't choose the 526, it was a special request. But glad I took it on, it's been a great aircraft to get to know. (And coincidentally (and not related to the special request) a long-time friend of mine does Zlin 142 delivery flights here.)

Can't wait the release for making some Hungarian paint for this Trener!

Good old days...year 2001...when I released my first version of my Z526F for FS2000...what an ugly job, if I see it now... :biggrin-new:

Mike

I followed the manual on the turn, 360 degree turn, roll, wing-over, loop, immelman, side-slip, stall and spin, diving turn, and inverted turn...Mike this aircraft is the CAT's PAJAMAS! It is amazingly easy to fly and easy to do acrobats with. Engine management is a snap! The detail and graphics are superb...but the most incredible thing of all is that on OLD SYSTEM Socket 775, GTX 285 and QX9650 with 4GB of 1200 ram it flies like a dream! I never went below 40fps at any time using FSX Steam. I tried to find something wrong with it but it was too amazing to worry about...actually I couldn't find anything to gripe about! Like the C-47, and the Mallard, this will be an everyday flyer! I don't have DX10 on this old card but if you would like me to post some pics they came out very nice! HEY DID I MENTION THE SOUNDS...WOW! Flying with an open cockpit, my mind tried to convince me I needed a jacket!

I should just point out that the sounds are just the default C-172 sounds (with a few added ones) - which I like, as they remind me the most of what six-cylinder engines sound like when you have your headset on. But glad they work that much better with the Zlin! :)

Have to admit that I "borrowed" the sound set from the Zlin 142, sounds a bit more accurate. Otherwise i think this aircraft is a masterpiece ! Mike :applause:

I just bought it. From the first testl I discovered two problems.
First, clicking on the navigation lights switch, i get an error related to sounds and FSX crash.
Last, the stall warning light does not work.
I write here because I do not know how to contact support on flight-replicas web site.
best regards, Maury

Hi Maury,

The last page of the Manual will tell you how to contact support (support@flight-replicas.com).

I'm just curious about your purchase, as the Zlin only just become activated on the website and there are no indications of a purchase yet? If I'm getting delayed notifications it would be good to know!

There is no stall warning light. The large red light is an over-G light (item #15, pages 5 and 6 in the Manual). This will only light when the aircraft is over the + and - G limits. Pressing the test switch (item #13) will make it illuminate briefly.

Nav light switch is indeed an error, as the incorrect sound is attached (although it will work if you have other Flight Replicas aircraft). I'll update the installer and you can download again. Sorry about that.

Maury, the Zlin been updated, and you can download again using the link in your order fulfilment email (as can anyone else who has the Zlin). If you have any problems, just let me know.

(And it turns out there has indeed been a problem with notifications from the website, and this has been fixed as well.)

I downloaded the file again, uninstalled and reinstalled.but now I have no more sounds .
I noticed that in panel.cfg calls up the gauge:
FlightReplicas_XMLSound! FBGS_XML Sound- But in the flight simulator gauge folder there is no such gauge.

That gauge should be found in the Sound folder: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound" . Have a look to see if it's there, along with "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\FlightReplicas" file.

Installer tested here on two machines and all's well. You may need to uninstall the previous version of the Zlin, and then re-install.

Please download one more time, as there may have been a disconnect between the working files and the master files when compiling. I've just checked the master files (used to generate the model) and they seem OK now. But if anything else comes up, just let me know, and I will get on it right away.

Thanks!

I had redownloaded the new file.Disinstalled the previous one and reinstalled the newo. But i had the same error:

"Creation failed - check if sound is avaible"

However, after installing the file, "FlightReplicas_XMLSound! FBGS_XML Sound" is located in the sound folder of FSX and therefore, does not find it, and I have no sound at all.Only if I move it in the gauge folder, then the sounds works , apart from the two switches that cause the error.
I honestly do not know 'what to do, also because' everything else runs smoothly.
Thanks anyway

I think that the problem is not in the gauge, but that does not find the sound file, related to these switches.
I think this file should be in flightreplicas folder, but not being able to decompile the gauge, do not know what its, to see if indeed its there
sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand what I mean

In case anyone is following the thread, the web store was sending Maury the old version only (Maury subsequently got in touch via the support email). This has been corrected and now Maury's Zlin issues are solved.

Hi Anneke,

I haven't received any support requests - make sure you send to the address in the Manual. When I hear from you, either at that address (or PM me here at SOH), I'll send you a new download link, which will take care of the problem.
