Newly Arrived/Painted Hawker Fury Mk.II - Flying Legends UK

This is likely to be one of the main stars of this weekend's Flying Legends airshow at Duxford, England.

This Hawker Fury Mk.II had previously been based in Australia as VH-SFW for a few years, but had also already been based in the UK for many years prior, all of it in an overall metallic-blue paint scheme. Recently, having been sold again, the aircraft's engine was overhauled and the airframe refurbished, and following that work it was flight tested while still in Australia back in April. Shortly there after the aircraft was crated-up and shipped to the UK, arriving at Air Leasing at Sywell just weeks ago. Just a couple days ago, the aircraft emerged at Air Leasing, fully assembled and now painted in the distinct and accurate markings of the first prototype Sea Fury, SR661. The aircraft is again registered as G-CBEL, as it had been prior to going to Australia. The aircraft flew for the first time today (since arriving in the UK), and was flown to Duxford, where it will be participating in this weekend's airshow, piloted by Richard Grace.

Yes, sorry for the mistake, it should be "Hawker Fury Mk.11" (I had been looking at a discussion on Tempest Mk.II's as well at the time of posting). I would edit my previous posts/title if I could.

I just love the "Temperate Sea" color scheme, and done so accurately - any less accurate, it wouldn't be as beautiful. The "Temperate Sea Scheme" comprises of Dark Slate Grey (topside greenish color) and Extra Dark Sea Grey (topside dark bluish-grey color), usually applied over standard Sky for the lower surfaces, but of course in this case "Trainer Yellow" for the prototype application. It has been nice to see more and more British warbirds restored in those colors as well, with other recent examples including Wes Stricker's Seafire Mk.XV, Air Leasing's Seafire Mk.III, and Comanche Fighter's Spitfire Mk.V EP122. It would be neat to see a Corsair flying in those colors as well (for a time, Comanche Fighters had their Hellcat painted in Fleet Air Arm "Temperate Sea" markings too). Of course the Shuttleworth Trust's Sea Hurricane and The Fighter Collection's Wildcat are a couple others which are painted in the "Temperate Sea Scheme".
