Fantastic news ! Kirk's models have really done well and I am so thankful for his work, which is still to this day outstanding. That was the Mirage F1 I logged a ton of virtual time in, but a new HD incarnation of this sexy French Jet is overdue, That being said, I am really excited about this new project by SSW !!! From ssw facebook page, HUD work in progress.
Also, here is a nice hud tape viedo from an Mirage F1 CG.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEalA0uy5Jw
It would be cool, if the developers could answer some questions here and not only on the facebook page.
From my understanding, they are developing the E version , i would like to ask if a C version is planned, and
cockpitwise, what are the differences between the 2 version, couldn't find pictures from the side consoles of the E version.

I prefer an E version with INS and bombing capacity.

SSW1
August 22nd, 2016, 01:46
After some initial doubt, SSW decided to go initially for the C version, leaving room to go to E version to cover also the ground attack role.
Here some features:
- Both TacPack and vACMI compatible
- HUD and CyranoIV radar linked (both made with Red Panda technology used on SSW Tornado, (zero impact on performances)
- Realistic flight model, including Dynamic Drag Index, external stores load/drop affect not only the weight but also the aerodinamic drag
- Cyrano radar in AA mode will be replicated as the real thing, including interception mode.
- Ground Mapping Radar with dynamically computed radar shadows based on real SRTM elevation data
- Almost all systems will be replicated and can be operated at maximum level of realism

Tips, hints, comments and complains are well accepted.
cheers

I want to say thanks in advance for the work being done and being an owner of all the SSW models, you can count on me being in line to buy the F.1 regardless of when it's ready (at the holidays or early next year)! Looking forward to seeing progress shots in the future. In the meantime, will be studying the F.1 in detail to learn more about it.

A very interesting feature of the Mirage F1 is the radar stick on the left console.
The stick can be moved in the horizontal and rotated in the vertical axιs.
It would be cool if we could assign the respective axes on a joystick wich supports such a function, like the thrustmaster t.16000m ( can be used also as left handed).

Tried like this and did not work either with all three cards. As our fellow member GB suggested to me earlier, it could be due to the still ongoing capital controls in Greece and the way your company is registered (company type) that our banks are refusing the transaction. It seems this is not the case with other vendors. Of course we can not ask you to change your company, so unless you offer another payment method customers from Greece will not be able to buy until the capital controls are lifted, if that ever happens...

To clear things a bit, the capital controls block any online money transfer for goods other than "software and apps", so if SSW online store is registered in Paypal for selling other goods, the money transfer is denied by the Greek banks.

Considering that the Mirage F-1 has been an iconic fighter for the Hellenic Air Force it is worth to try assisting with this "problem", all Greek members will greatly appreciate this as we all appreciated last year's SSW generous offer.

Additionally, I suggest to our friendly SSW team to not forget some (or all) of the unique Hellenic Air Force in service and anniversary liveries and primarily the Hellenic Air Force peculiar 4 x AIM-9 P4 configuration (2 AIM-9P4's at the wingtips and 2 AIM-9P4's at the outer underwing pylons usually used to carry ECM pods for all other users). This configuration gave the plane increased persistence in CAP missions since it was the only one having the ability to load 3 fuel tanks and 4 Air-to-Air Missiles.

Nice to see other F1CG fans here!
2 more suggestions.
1) An English labeled cockpit is must have. Here are some photos
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2357186#post2357186
2) some F1CG's had on the right side names of greek islands in ancient greek style letters format (on the standard blue / silver paint sheme).
Please please do at least Nr. 115 ''ΛΗΜΝΟΣ'', it means a lot for us ... .
Will post photos with other islands also

Very excited to read that the C model will be made first. Many operators and thus many repaint opportunities.
In addition to the many French squadrons there was Greece as already mentioned (F1CG), Jordan (F1CJ),
Kuwait (F1CK), Morocco (F1CH), South Africa (F1CZ), and Spain (F1CE).

Good times are coming.

Thanks to all for clarifications.
The thing is odd since we have others Greek customers that do not show this problem, SSW is registered as selling, Entertainment->Video Games software.
However we contacted our Pay Pal national referee, that did some actions, please try once again, we want to solve or clarify thiis issue.
Thanks
/SSW

BTW:
As we did for the FRF-104 G we will make liveries for almost all nations that used such plane, further more, as we do for all our planes, a good paint kit will let space to other painters to do their job.

Tried sending you ten cents right now and it worked! Whatever you did seems to have solved the issue. Thank you very much for your persistence in this! Now to wait for the F1 or think about taking advantage of the last days of your sale.

Edit: Normal purchase also worked fine as I got the F-104G and Tornado using your sale coupon. Problem solved! Thanks!

Incidentally, does anyone know how to register for the SSW forums? Nice to see other F1CG fans here!
Though I have re-posted this video, feels much appropriate in this post.
At her time, air superiority was guaranteed. I definitely want to
simulate such missions with the SSW plane when it comes out, as conditions
were 20+ years ago (and FSX/P3D is the only sim I can achieve that)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzC0q5lHg3E

AIs I use are FS9, so if they don't properly take off - like the F-4s that I spawn'em airborne here - they don't
resume for flying conditions from parking state...

no need to be so touchy, or there are hidden reasons ?
I would have corrected the post anyway to give due credits.
BTW:
to be totally correct: name is Kirk Olsson (s), to be complete credits also to Henk Schuitemaker the paintkit packager.
To be complete we are using the Olsson GMax model to develop systems waiting for our model that is in still in an early stage, you can find some screen shots here down.

Glad to hear your F1 is still on the books -- offer to provide info is still there. We've needed a new one for several years
since Kirk's last build had its roots back in FS2004 and Razbam's version seemingly never made it past the render stage.

How will owners of the F-104G and F-104S (like myself) be handled in the update? New buy or update fee?

And a MiG-21 is always welcome.

Hi,
thanks for offered help.
The zipper update is an huge one that needed many hours of work: a real R21G radar and AIM7 handling, revised textures, etc.. we are thinking, not decided yet, to a little fee to upgrade, ie: 10 € that is the difference between the new and old price.
It is not our policy and we do not willingly, but we are forced.
