I cant find this one anywhere, anybody have a copy? The Alphasim MB5's glass materials are tied up in the airframe and won't convert. I'm sure Tim's has a separate glass, but I can't find the thing. If you want a FSX MB.5, I need to find that file. Any clues?

Ask and you shall receive, thanks Timballs! Funny, I went up and down the search for an hour, I could find references to it, but not the file, but then, the file library search is a little screwy at time. A P-40Q!!??!! Really? Why have I not heard of this?

I would love a good native FSX P-63F.

What a wealth of models!

Go fly then. BTY, it needs attention to the flight dynamics and the VC glass needs some further attention, just haven't got that far yet. I did get as far as bolting an arresting hook to the rudder post for the naval trials, though.

I'll have a look at the P-63, too. Shouldn't be a problem, though. The show stoppers are glass mapped on the airframe texture sheet- so no Firebrand...

MB.5! Nice one Lazarus:ernaehrung004: Starting to miss Piglet's massive output again

Well, the P-63 is a dead issue- won't read, sjows a black one lod lumpy silhouette...

MB.5/5N update. Still fiddling with VC materials, so no change there. Hammered the flight dynamics a bit- getting closer, still won't make book Vmax except in a shallow dive, then 500 mph-yeah! Updated external model for navalized version, adjusted the hook positioning. Much better deck manners, still a ways to go, but it traps, doesn't blow backwards off the deck, and the 'sky anchor' deceleration is fixed . Roughed out a '50's FAA pain scheme.

breakbreak: We all miss Piglet. Hope the big doofus is doin' alright. Aviation is a hard trade on people. If starvation doesn't get you, the TEL, hexane and chlorethyene and whatevers in jet-A is growing you a brain tumor, your employer and any pilots around, the feds, MANPAD packing Palisaro moolies, weather and murphy are all actively trying to kill you the rest of the time...
there really is no life like it. I wish I could get off the merry-go-round...

Thanks for having a go at the P-63. Your MB.5 updates are looking great. :)

Loving the updates, enjoying the model apart from this annoying "artifact" around the light, pretty sure its one of the fx_*.bmp texture but can't get rid of it!http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/attachment.php?attachmentid=38007&stc=1
Any help would be appreciated

Ah-ah, interesting. I also have to look at the landing light- its acting wonky, too. Thanks, we'll get it dialled in.

Excellent work thus far Lazarus. Nice to see this one getting a new life. Thanks!

Certainly not historically or functionally correct, but my only concern was removing the blurry VC textures and placing something (anything) that filled the console spaces and gave the appearance of clarity.

That looks amazing. Just for contrast, 2 shots of default- did some high altitude runs- it makes her numbers, nearly 600 mph in an aggressive dive

BTY, I don't have any artifacts around the lights. Try swapping obstruction light 2 (?) bitmap in your effects texture with another, but open the effect files with notepad and check which texture map is called out. Otherwise, noted for final- I'll change that for another.
