For Me and only me ,to date I have not found a good NYC scenery,,Tried the two offered .disappointing! The Aerosoft Manhattan X and the Drzewiecki Design NYC X. Both good efforts,BUT both FRAME RATE MONSTERS. making flying imposable..One even does not show the new Freedom Tower...As a Resident Of NYC..I Know..Granted there are and is so much to portray, and is a major task to do..BUT if you gonna do it? Make it right..NYC is a city of lights and color, and not a dark grey bunch of blocks....Would appreciate if any know of a realistic alternative..Thnx!

Speaking as a third-generation Manhattan native (didn't move to the DC area 'til late '07)... I agree, and I'd love to see a well done NYC scenery. The problem is, though, that default NYC is such a performance sinkhole - one of the worst in FSX - that any scenery designer is going to have to start from a real performance disadvantage. I wonder if it's possible to get acceptable frames/smoothness there at all. I'm pessimistic, at least until another sim comes along. Would love to simulate flights to/from New York but as a general rule I try to avoid the place in the sim, just because I can't stand the slideshow.

I would have To Agree Alan A..just so much ya can squeeze out of old technology with FSX,,which was first released in 1982 NYC is no piece of cake to do ,and to fly over..I have found some small high lights.to use .and will suffice until we in the Sim world have access to new Simulators..Still begs the question is it the flying? or a Picture tour world tour.?...AS REAL AS IT GETS....Thnx My Friend!

I too would like to see a new, accurate New York. Glad to hear both of those are not good. I was very tempted. That one picture you posted with the Statue of Liberty is a composite. New York is not in back of the statue!

Drzewiecki Design NYC X v2 is amazingly easy on the frames for my old and new setups (i7-920, i7-6700k). original version was quite heavy.

It is a monster scenery. Google Earth has a neat feature where you can create a flyby of the city in 3d. Anyways this is an impressive video of V2.

I have the demo version of NYC and it works great. FPS is excellent but if you're going to fly long flights in and out with a high end tubeliner, be careful to not use the FSX Flight Planner or maps (generally anything in the FSX menu bar) as it will consume too much VAS on top of what the scenery and model will consume.
