Bought this bird last week, and finally made my first flight on Sunday (after spending a lot of time getting my controls set up). Rudder still sensitive, and finally found a work-around for the gear issue. Still have a lot of control bindings to work on. But I had a blast.

I will be implementing all of the changes from Mike71 to the upgraded version by Bob Chilico I posted the link above in MrZippy's.

After considerable research regarding the actual features of the F3D-2 / EA-10B "Skyknight" and realistic data for use in the upgraded ALPHASIM model for FSX, I offer the following conclusions. The F3D-2 was a miserable failure for use aboard carriers, and was only operated from a couple CVs during initial trials, two "workup periods" in the Atlantic (VF-101 and VF-111) and an aborted deployment during the Korean War. VC-4 Det 44N was embarked in USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CV-39) but quickly offloaded to join land based Marine squadron VMF(N)-513. The plane had major problems with catapult launch compatibility and general Flight Deck handling. Carrier CO's informed the chain of command that the F3D-2 was an unacceptable detriment. Yes, see them in a blink of an eye. Really don´t care about them, pay no attention, not important at all for me.

The shots I've seen so far look good enough for the money, but now I'm torn between this one and the original Islander. Can anyone with both compare the two regarding quality, systems, etc.?

I've seen these too, but since the last sim I flew was FS9 (no self-shadowing at all), I just see them as a quirk.

Yes agree with the others you need 3.1 and 3.1a updates. Check the stickies.

That link is broken but I have a copy of that, too. There are two updates, the UpdateEng3.1 (4mb) and ACUpdate3.1a (150kb). If you PM me your e-mail and I could send you that 15mb SDK. Cheers.

That´s wird i installed 3.1 in teh first place. Can you send me the copy Aircraft, Vehicle, and Building SDK v1.5? the same happens with Firepower heavies noplanes in the drop list

I believe the Update 3.1 was for the four-engine bombers, it's right next to 'Aircraft, Vehicle, and Building SDK v1.5' so I hope it works. (if not I have a copy) Cheers.
