Greetings, I've been messing around with the gmax files kindly provided by Stuart and I've gotten the radar on the the early Fletcher to rotate in CFS2. I followed the tutorials I found for that and everything seems okay with that regard. However ... I've been scouring the internet and haven't found anything that would help with the animation on the guns, i.e. have them track you like those on USIO's ships. He has the same animation that the default ships have. I have found only two references to this process - specifically on this website. I'm writing down what I understand from those two pages to see if I'm on the right track or if I'm missing something. Here goes: 1. In 2008 a post was made by simonu which alluded to the animation of the guns. He stated that the...

Thanks for the research and fixes. . I kinda guess that fx_ALPHA_F8_AB-2.txt would have to be renamed so I did and here are some screen shots of what that looks like on my machine: This was taken when I paused the sim; when paused the blue flames are more noticeable and that plume on the tail end (cotton ball) is visible This one is when I hit the prtscn and pasted it to paint. The burner animation is blurred - guess that's the way prtscn freezes the screen.

I'll be adding an AB flame later just needed to fix issues in the tube for P3DV3. For FSX I will resize the sprites to match the tubes since P3Dv3 version increases the size of the sprites. This will give a choice to use this one or use original version for FSX.

I usually use step numbers when testing as not to lose previous changes. Just delete the -2 and rename the file from .txt to .fx, should be fx_ALPHA_AB.fx. This effect is to test the flame in the AB tube to get the sprites from tilting and fix the sprite size. LM did a goof-up job on the effects for P3Dv3. No AB flame was added yet

Hello Folks, Slowly I´m getting there... This floatplane was used for marine reconnaissance and also for torpedo training, for which it carried a dummy torpedo to train pilots for the larger twin-engined torpedo bombers like the Gotha WD11 and WD14, which were used in the Baltic. Real German aerial torpedos at the time weighed over 1500 lb, and the WD7 couldn´t handle the weight. The maximum it was able to carry was a 400 lb dummy. As this was not a weapon, I decided to keep out of the Dp files, and build it with the aircraft, to have it enabled and disabled (visible or invisible) with the spoiler key. Using the spoiler parameter for carrying the torpedo also allowed convenient lift and drag alterations in the .air file for when the torpedo is "carried". I found it works...

There are only a few photos of Wendover AAF so I improvised but here is what it probably looked like when the 764th Bomb Squadron was training there. You can see all 12 B-24Js on the line. Interesting (I have a photo) that "Stinky" No. 3 has a white not a red tail markings and serial number. It is the only one that way. Here are two screenshots one from each end of the field on the apron.

Now that i'm in the right forum, is anybody having trouble with the pontoon version AVRO sea tutor? I have both models wheel and pontoon. The pontoon version does not respond well. I fly with crash detection off. What happens is crashing going though trees hangers and even acrobatics, buts what makes it worse is it shuts down my sim. The wheel version works great. I'm wondering if anybody else is having a problem. Let me know. Thanks

I blame my access to blueprints :biggrin-new:. And I was thinking along the lines of the Wright Flyer or some flying, boxy thing like Snoopy's doghouse. The exterior is not that detailed, is it? (The hinges are there to check the correct shape/position of the aileron. I am not even sure I'll retain them for the final release). But seriously, what's the use of doing this if it doesn't surpass the stock P-47? The cockpit isn't that hard (and that will be the most detailed part, as I hope you'll spend most of your time there); it's these compound curves and shapes that give me headaches at times - especially if the blueprints aren't very clear. Anyway, even though I consider myself a fairly patient person, I sometimes need to gripe a bit. Regard my occasional 'complaining' as an...

I'm tempted to say one of the Potez 560 series but the apparent wing dihedral and the rudder don't fit the bill.
