609 Squadron, Eastleigh, morning, 17 July 1940 As I loaf about next to my CFS3 standard issue stack of crates - a welcome change from the CFS3 standard issue oil drum - I wonder why the Huns are sending over such small formations. This isn't what we were led to expect. Something to do with spawns, I've heard the intelligence people mutter. But such things are beyond the ken of common or garden fighter pilots like the boys of 609. Ours not to reason why, and all that. The next call to arms is back to the same area as before. The worrying bit is that while the enemy is being squeezed out of Suffolk and Kent, he seems to be expanding his western bridgehead towards Southampton. Which is where we are. Not for much longer, if this carries on.

Hehe, it's just the stock FS carrier with some 70's aircraft added by me. It makes a pretty good Kitty Hawk. :) Cheers, JP

There is an update being released for the Eagles next week via Just Flight. Most of the bugs mentioned since the release have been cleared up and some changes made accordingly - many thanks for all the reports. A few of the most recent are a little too late to make it into the revised package but I always note them down so they'll be cleared up sooner or later. Things like the chocks might not be though as people are using different settings - change the compression ratios, and the chocks will be out of whack. Not much I can do about that right now, but I should be able to sort them later on. PBR is also coming to the Eagles at a later date, along with AIM-7 Sparrow missiles, and the F-15D Eagle, which will be released as a free add-on next week for those that own the package. You're...

I believe the light on the ground from landing lights is a polygon built into the model.

OK, here's the link: https://daveg.cbfsim.org/misc/RAZBAM_A_7_GAUGES.zip Note, this is for the original Razbam A-7D/E (vol1), non-TacPack version. I don't have the other volumes, so I've no idea if it will work with those. Unzip to a temporary directory. Open your "SimObjects\Airplanes\RAZBAM A-7 Corsair II\panel" folder and make a backup of the "RAZBAM_A_7_GAUGES.cab" file, then replace with the one in my zip. You'll need XMLTools64 installed otherwise there's no point! I've also removed the limitation on having the engine shut down to change loadouts.

With the amount of sim time I'm getting these days, I'm pretty far removed from a proper aviator of any sort, especially of the naval variety ... :very_drunk: Yes, good point, I know about light off when coming aboard carriers. But I'm not always on a carrier, and it was more a generic question about how to get improve the way landing lights paint the ground - some surprisingly don't at all, and that's what I'm trying to sort.
