Thanks Scott, I understand a bit better now. Then I don't need to hurry. So far I had only reinstalled the Harrier and the F-104, but I'll also have to reinstall the Tornado to get that generated file as well.

Thanks Manfred for one of the most beautiful freeware aircraft around. It has been sitting on my hard drive since it's release, but only flown a bit since I am one of those folks who have maybe one or two paints for each aircraft installed. Rare I know. The C-47 is awaiting a Rhodesian paint circa 1977 to 1980. I hope to see one eventually!

Hi Daube, This is pasted directly from the FAQ on the website, only so the information is relayed precisely: Sim silently quits to desktop or hangs in pauseA clear indication that activation key is missing or has been flagged as invalid: Major hardware and/or software changes can cause the activation key to become invalid. In such cases, please send the latest registration file generated to info@simskunkworks.com specifying what hardware/software changes you have done so we can provide you with a new key, without this informations we cannot rebuild the key.

I have to agree with you there! I have dreams of seeing one in the air again. If Iran ever retires theirs and if there was a way to get one in the US while still complying with ITAR it could happen. Dale Snodgrass would probably agree to fly it. I would want it painted in early gull grey/ white camo in VF-143, VF-142, VF-84 or VF-1 trim. All four are cool, but the Pukin' Dogs was the prettiest IMHO. (I do like blue, maybe that's why 92sq Lightnings are my favorite of that breed as well!)

There's still a little more testing to do before it's released.

I bought xp 7 and xp 9 and really hated it. Decided to give it one more try of xp 11 on sale at steam. I’m glad I did. The graphics and scenery are outstanding and there is tons of freeware. Payware is great and generally priced lower than fsx or P3D. I primarily us xp 11 now but still have FSX/P3D for the addons of aircraft that 8 still like to fly. if your computer can run P3D V4 it should have no problem running xp. The previous comments still do apply regarding the more powerful system the better especially the cpu.

Thanks Lee, They say when you cook a bush turkey in a pot, throw away the bush turkey and eat the pot. Like Britain, Canada and New Zealand, roast turkey (not the Australian variety) is part of our traditional Christmas dinner. Kevin

I could not think of a better platform to fly an ultralight in. X-Plane excels at scenery, autogen, night lighting so low and slow ultralight flying is perfect. Tons of great freeware available! IMHO, you want a powerful system, particularly in the GPU dept. with lots of video RAM to enjoy the higher X-Plane settings. I'm personally not as convinced of the superiority of the flight dynamics (esp. the ground handling), but it's fine. For the price, it's a no-brainer.

Ah, I also got a sim shutdown at some point, yes. It was when switching to another SSW plane, I think... Anyways, if I understood correctly, I need to re-trigger the installation program of each plane, so that a new computer key can be generated to be sent to SSW, right ? Or should I just send them the old key as a reference ?

Glad you got it sorted promptly. I've never seen the message you described on my systems. My sims have always closed without explanation or drama when one of my SSW keys was invalid (disconcerting the first few times it happens until you become familiar with the shtick). The validation is quite fussy.. even adding a drive to my system invalidated all my SSW keys. Fortunately, they've always been fast to get me new keys when needed. I hope if the bad boys ever decide to close up shop, they unlock their aircraft for their customers.

Yes, when flying over Japanese airbases enroute to Tokyo, one sees buildings, aircraft and vehicles. When approaching Tokyo from afar, one sees a few buildings popping up and as one gets closer and the textures begin to show, and the spacing is so far apart, it does become a bit spooky. When the missions are finished the player will be flying in at 500 feet altitude. THAT is when it really gets the reality of what it looked like to Allied pilots flying over. No AA fire coming up from the main Japanese city after encountering it over outlying airfields. I'm currently working in MB to build up the areas surrounding the burned part of the city with normal buildings. Once done, I will send them to Rami and/or KDriver to convert to GSL scenery so frame rates don't suffer. (I'm still...

X-Plane 11 is easier to use and is a ton of fun. It has AWESOME graphics for aircraft and landscape...however I will never give up my older sims because of the money I have spent on them and nostalgic value. Ted
