Bjoern replied to a thread X-Plane Screenshots in X-Plane
Did my first scenery editing steps in X-Plane, albeit only thinning out a VFR scenery and fixing an airport layout. OverlayEditor and WED work quite well. Think SBuilderX and ADE for X-Plane. And, for the first time in ages, gave a helicopter a try. After a few crashes struggling with the autopilot, I got the hang of it.

You'll have to make up your own texture folders and cfg entrie's, and use the prop texture's from Scrubbys version, It may be different for you, but these texture's were a bit blurry for me so i had to convert them to DDS:wavey: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links_search.php?action=show&sort=N&beforeafter=1&desc=1&ents=1&keys=1&literal=1&search=tempest&childcats=1&page=3

And also frightening... Flying over Kīlauea Volcano on Big Island in the sim gives you an idea of what it's like to live in such a dangeous area today... Obviously the 2018 eruption is not depicted here, but you can see the former lava flows from 1840, 1955 and 2014... After Molokini and Kīlauea, go to French Polynesia, it's quite relaxing... Get it while it's on sale! Same author as Hawaii Photoreal... You get Hawaii+ if you buy Polynesia...

Hello Folks, A lengthy part of the job, but not difficult: The fuselage, still 8-sided, to make dimensioning of all the parts in the three components easier, is now more pot-bellied. I still have to adapt the wing roots to the new fuselage belly, which may be a bit more difficult, and position the forward landing-gear parts accordingly. You can see in the blueprint that they are still not done yet. Here´s 2 screenshots. The look is a bit more realistic. I still have to get the texture mapping a bit better overall. Cheers, Aleatorylamp

I'll add that the engine was running when I entered the "office". Would prefer "cold/dark". I wasn't sure about shutdown procedure. I did read that there is a ctrl+e startup.

:untroubled: Hey there Folks, It sure was a nice flight that we all did yesterday, flew over some rough and forbidden landscapes from SO3 Ashland to KRDD Redding, Ca. Hehe grew up in this country many a year ago. Flew around Mt. Shasta took some pictures, but they didn't turn out. The CNs of Flight 19 stayed in Ashland, Ore. while the local aircraft mechanics put my buggy back together after some major engine problems, shucks, it took over four days to get the job completed, Whoa! and the cost, going to need to get a paper route in order to pay off the credit card. I guess it's the cost of having a good time, me think. hehe. Took a side trip and followed the Sacramento River up to Shasta Dam and got a good look at Shasta Lake, sure seem that the water level is sure down this year....

The Coffman starter drove a separate piston which turned the engine over: no heavy flywheel involved. As far as the FDE goes, Tempests were boom&zoom fighters which fought more in the vertical plane than dogfighters. Few were as nimble as a Spitfire (or Hurricane or especially Zero.) Nigel Richards did a splendid Centaurus sound set which included the Coffman starter sound: he kindly let me include it with a Tempest II I did for CFS3.

Original panel was painted by Sergey "Araks" Golovachev. You can download it at Sim-outhouse. I have lowered the cockpit panel to allow the gunsight cross hair to show up normally without using VIEW_FORWARD_DIR commands. I have also added the rear view mirror, canopy hatch mechanism, and cleaned up the cockpit display area to allow the gauges to show up cleanly. The rectangular/round gunsight and the cockpit panel with rectangular/round rear view mirror are interchangeable.
