Baldy and UncleTgt, Great pics. :encouragement: I've been plugging away, working through 22 May... "title_string"=Battle of France (Stuka) - Support the drive to Calais "summary_string"=Kameraden, herhören! Allied forces are now about to be pushed out of Boulogne, and our kommanders want to eliminate any aerial resistance in the area as Panzer units will now start their push on Calais. To this end, you'll raid the airfield at Saint Omer and destroy any resistance there. Show the Allied soldiers their time in France is over! (In actuality, the British left this base the evening of 20 May) "objective_string"=On the evening of 22 May, Stukas from III/StG 2 were intercepted just west of Hazebrouck, France by Hurricanes of 145 Squadron. It seems that one Stuka from 9/StG 2 was lost on...

We are making good progress in the VC, the flight model, and exterior textures. Much to do yet, however. We are looking for someone to join the team as a sounds engineer for the X-3. If you are interested in creating a full set of authentic sounds, please notify me by PM. Thanks

Ever the skeptic I thought I'd give FS2004 a whizz as I hadn't for ages and ages. Took a long time to start up (over 75 seconds) yet there are no addons whatsoever in the sim. So I closed it down and started it again... this time 71 seconds. Selection of a flight at my local (CYXX) airport 27 seconds. But once up and running was normal. Unloading the sim took a while too. So I concur, MS must have done something to skewer it. Oh and a/c selection screen took about 10 seconds to display (again only default a/c in sim) One +ve however the aircraft were not blacked out in the selection screen. So that is good. My specs below.

I haven't seen this addressed in the FS community yet, but the latest Windows 10 update has caused problems in fs9 use. The specific problem involves slower load times and delays between view changes and other screen rendering. I notice that the "spinning circle" will be displayed during view changes and aircraft changes. Also affected are the use of the functions in the top menu bar. Choosing Settings will trigger the "spinning circle" for a few seconds while the selected function tries to load. Overall the sim functions fine and frame rates are the same but game play is not as fluid because of the frequent delays. I have experience no game crashes because of the problem. According to a knowledgeable friend, the general computer gaming community is all over MS about this problem, so...

Hello Ivan, OK then... we´ll see how it goes. I have to use wild cards for file names, if that allows the next file in a folder to be automatically opened when the instruction is repeated in a loop. It works in a batch file, because I know you have done it, but I don´t know if Qbasic can do it. Someone in a forum says to cut out a piece of the screen image of the directory listing, and turn it into a file-name! Sounds like a strange way of doing it.

Thanks Kevin. I have my scenery folders in that order but the folder with the scenery for Darwin Civil etc is a distinct entry, one down from MR's Australia airfields. Darwin Civil appears as it should and all MR's other Australian airfields are good (well...the other NT and Queensland fields; I haven't looked at WA fields). I will try uninstalling MR's Australia and placing the files in the scenery folder with Darwin Civil. Michael

Hello Aleatorlamp, This thread strays to so many areas that I don't think it makes a difference any more. We are OFF topic more often than we are ON topic. The original idea was to discuss designs for important aeroplanes that had not been built for Combat Flight Simulator over the years. None of the designs mentioned recently actually qualifies. They may not have good representations but that is a different matter. One of the advantages of using a command line interface rather than a graphical user interface is that I can do multiple calls using a batch file. There are lots of advantages to working with the command line. This is why I have been trying to set up processing of textures using command line parameters to utilities. That was how the textures for the Ki 61 were...

One thing I will say is that I can't stand the Sky Sports/NBC Sports coverage. The announcers talk waaaaaaay too much and we always miss a lot of podium coverage....
