    It's not that you have all in one install but Daiwilletti's and Majormagee's all in one effects xml covers all installs so if it is a missing effect this effects.xml should cover it. Re tracers You have to look at the gun/cannon xdp and the weapon (shell or whatever) that it refers to and the effects called for that weapon. Then check you have the dds files related to the effects called for by that weapon xdp. It's a pain in the butt to do all that so otherwise change out the cannon and shell for one that works. There should be some threads around here on sqare cannon tracers which may help. Also you could post the parts of the aircraft xdp relating to <GunStations> and someone may work out the problem.

    I wouldn't have the all in one package unless it was part of an install. I have the square tracer issue with some British AC in ETO. Last weapons pack I would have installed would have been the AV History pack many moons ago.......

    It is selected, an other thing noted. Opening the main forum page,no names of members appears and it goes for cfs 1-2-3, only names are missing logoes and details are there as before it is definitely my own fault for sure killer svend/ ps can't attatch an icon either

    From time to time, I will have taken off and a few minutes into flight, one engine fails. I have gone through the startup procedure using the audio cues and startup check list. This does not happen with every flight, but it remains a puzzle. For the record, I have loaded a proper amount of fuel and have my tank selectors in the correct position. I start up, as directed in the checklist with carb heat off. Thanks for any ideas. Sherm DCA662

    I don't use PTO but having had square tracers i normally find out it is to do with the wrong or missing dds files associated with the gun and round being used. If your other installs work, try changing the tracer dds files (BACK UP the previous!) from one of your other installs. You may have to dig into the xdp files and see what effects are being used. Do you have Daiwilletti's all in one effects.xml file?

    I am not too sure that one can blame the shaders for all the problems If installed correctly. I am making a readme for dummies on this and for basic Ankor's Shaders one only has to install 3 things Shaders 30 Folder d3d8.ddl d3d8,ini other things do not HAVE to be installed but make it better for some. I didn't install the effects and sun since they created issues for me. but work for others. In any case back up anything being replaced! Now since I misunderstood hunter and he did not add all these installs into one, the best suggestion in my mind would be to do another clean install up to 3.1a (keep the old one as a backup temporarily). Check it. If OK add the 3 Ankor things. Check it. If OK, add back all the aircraft etc but not Winging Mans weather. Check it.

    One "problem" of the shaders is that they can be configured differently for everyone. There are these two entries about halfway down the file: ; Tweaks strength of environment reflection. 0 - off. 1 minimum, 9 maximum. EnvReflection=5 ; Tweak sharpness of sun and environment reflections. 1 dullest, 9 sharpest. Glossiness=3 I believe they're 5 and 1 right out of the box. However, as you can see I use 5 and 3 because I found it to be the closest to the native Windows XP look which in turn is what CFS3 was originally made to look like. Having glossiness at 1 gives a very dull finish as you've already found out. Now if you set it to 3 and take a new look at the brightened texture you'll see why it's a bit of a problem that people use different values.
