Reshade is the new SweetFX The Reshade post-render effects are completely independent of AnKor's game shaders, other than they only work if AnKor's shaders are running. I use them for modifying things like sharpening, and color contrast enhancement in continuous real time versus doing it to a still image snapshot in post process. It was one of the Reshade shaders (Levels) that was making my nighttime scenarios too dark to see, until I realized the cause and turned it off.

It's a good thing those Garmin units are completely optional. How quick some of you are to throw the entire plane out with even the notion of glass. From what I've seen of the aircraft itself, it looks like it might give the FlyingIron a run for its money. That said, I'm always prepared to eat my words...

I installed this today. I have no Arc De Triumph or Notre Dame. I thought that was strange considering how well the rest of the city was done. Can anyone confirm those two items are there? I have nothing where Notre Dame should be, and I have a 12 story building where the arc should be. Thanks for any info you can share. Don BP;)

So, I am probably as confused as Ted re solving the moon refection and your replies there if you don't use Sweet fx anymore. I couldn't find anything in shader30 folder, or the d3d8.ini file vaguely similar to your post #7 in the thread.:dizzy::dizzy:

I don't use SweetFX anymore, but it does require AnKor's shaders to be running first for it to work. Reshade eliminates the need for FlightFX.

Yeah Graham is a great old buddy. :) He has had he health issues over the years but it was sure good to hang out with him again. I have every single source file of all his planes, even stuff he never finished that were pretty cool before he got sick. He left them all with me.

Fortunately no issues with today's update on my end. I saw posted elsewhere again, and it has become standard practice, to make sure that Windows is fully updated first and that the Community folder is empty, prior to running the update and the sim for the first time after the update. I never had to do any update from the Microsoft Store this time. After installing the update and running the sim one time, I then closed it down and added in some of my addons, including the FlyingIron Spitfire, and it all checks out just fine.

Well I'll be. I am using as the alternate instead of - changed. Thanks for that. Hadnt made a difference but still. Did some looking around and I think it is because their servers work a little like the amazonaws ones where the IP addresses are dynamically allotted. Either way can confirm no further issues with the packages need updating. That said I havent applied the new update. Perhaps I'll get my time and weather sliders back ? And maybe they have fixed the lower case g issue on the chooser UI... that one is my slight OCD kicking in though.

modelr - there is a method to overcome these perennial installers issues of V4 installers not upgraded to V5 (It wont fix any defects in the add on itself) but it works very nicely and by making a few simple registry edits and additions to your Win10 registry you have a simple but effective method for overcoming this problem. Here is the link to the YouTube video that the guy put out on HOW TO DO IT V4 into V5 - Tutorial - Install Any Prepar3D v4 Add-on into Prepar3D v5! Works with all PMDG Aircraft! - YouTube. Worked fine for me. Basically you are creating a registry entry that pretends there is a V4 installed but the path takes it to V5 that's all. Important point - if your not comfortable with knowing what your doing touching the registry in your operating system - then don't a...

I haven't seen any fps loss with the Avedyne display on my 690. In fact, I could run the lite model pretty well in non complex scenery areas on my old system. Now, no problems pretty much anywhere with the new one other than having to turn down autogen in major metro areas like around London and LA (Orbx for both)
