Shades of Errol Flynn - he got shot down over Germany at night in one of those things along w/Alan Hale Sr in "Desperate Journey." That film gave a decent look at the inside of one of those, not quite as good as "Air Force," but still pretty good.

Hi again, all good and well here. I'm still lurking in the shadows so to speak. Looks like the community is still thriving. Keep up the good work and I'll be looking forward to more releases.

Baz, that the stripes were overpainted, I can agree on, but that they would paint the entire underside of the fuselage green, být leave the stripes grey AND leave the underwing stripes intact I find hard to believe. The stripes were painted on the eve of D-Day, in July it was ordered that they be removed from the top and later that year from the underside as well. Many aircraft actually kept the stripes under the fuselage almost to the end of the war though, but not those under the wing as far as I am aware. I had a look at the Snafu special as well: Here's the original: and it's tail during the Battle of the Bulge: and the restored version that's in France:

Welcome back, Carlo. I hope that you've weathered the storm and that things are not too bad for you at present. The little single seater is indeed a (the?) Sablier type 100 as manufactured by la Vicaina Aviacion at Fabrica de Garay y Sesumago (or Fabrica de Gomas Garay, according to another source), Viscaya, Bilbao. Carlo having declared open house, whilst awaiting the next challenge can anyone tell me why Georges Sablier was dressed in thigh length boots, lederhosen kurz and leather gloves for that photograph?

As the images of the aeroplane itself do not seem to ringing any bells, may I try one of the designer before, if this does not work, throwing in the towel and declaring open house?

There were an awful lot of variations in paint on C-47s. We have gone with one for HoneybunIII that we liked from references. There is no "correct" theme, the liveries evolved over weeks and months. It is what it is. If people want something else, there will be a full paintkit made available when we release the livery packs for the DC-3.:engel016:

Ok, I checked your observation, looks like its correct, see this: But on You screenshot looks like underside of the fuselage (back part) no grey colour (I havent this model yet, Im waiting for PCAviator), just green what is wrong, I suppose (and if it was painted green perhaps this repaint is after invasion so no any invasion strips on wings if this skin is from period after invasion like on this scheme): C-47A, 42-100533, 80 TCS/436 TCG/9 AF, Melun, France / Membury, Berkshire, UK, 1945, 'Honey Bun III':

Thanks for the kind words from all the usual suspects :playful: but it was meant as a prod to those that use this site but never contribute. The SOH donation drive is still incomplete for 2020 ...:banghead:

This is an issue I omitted in the readme file now that I've read this and had gone back and checked. But this is a component based mod and not the full aircraft for a reason. I thought an issue or two like this would come up considering the mod is essentially in pieces to avoid distribution issues, etc. But with the other versions I did, a lot of people noted not being stuck just using the soft panels version as it's largely a non-functioning glass cockpit. So in this version I did include the interior model for the soft panel interior, but not all the textures for it. So people could just easily swap it. Which is what I omitted in the readme. You'll have to go to the textures for the soft panel version that came with V4.5 and copy those panel texture files over to the repaints for the...

We have issued a HotFix for the DC-3 and one for the C-47. The DC-3 Hotfix is for those who have Flight1 GTN integration and may be experiencing blank screens. The C-47 HotFix is to correct a glitch in the init programming whch was preventingthe parachutists from deploying. Both are small installers and both just install replacement panel folders. Please download from your point of purchase and install, allowing overwrites. Sorry for the inconvenience.:engel016:

"Sierra Hotel!!" Thanks for Sharing. For those of you who don't know, Colonel Gail Peck, who was featured in the video has a book about his days as a Young Fighter Pilot during the Vietnam war. "Sherman Lead" is an excellent read. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in the history of the Air War over Vietnam.
