Excuse me for butting in here guys. I just put together a little test mission with 3 of each of these factories and attacked them with bombs, rockets and cannon and in all cases I could destroy them without any issues. Observing the damage concurring, it's apparent that the effects in these two .dp's are very complex compared to other building damage effects and they go on for a long while, again comparatively. So in an fairly isolated scenario where there is little else going on during the damage occurring, they don't cause CTDs. That leads me to speculate that when these damage effects are called in a scenario loaded with other effects occurring, lots of objects to render, etc., the call for the damage effects in these two buildings are simply overloading the computer RAM - or...

Hiya Rami, LOL! I have no idea how that got fixed. Somebody, not I, made some sort of change, I believe (but won't swear), to the wf_smal_factory_1.dp file and that fixed it. But search as I may through the forums, through my back-ups and old emails backups and PMs I can find nothing that describes the process by which the issue got fixed. I remember that it was something that I discovered and posted about in the cfs2 forum.

I was specifically clicking the vehicle configuration option to use the CCIP gunsight. No action if none can be taken. After doing some research, the A-4 gunsight was pretty simple, a fixed gunsight without lead computing. I've flown several sorties on the Fallon range and learned to use the fixed gunsight and can still bomb pretty well that way (grease pencil gunsight). Thanks for the quick response!

Not directly, no. However, you could try commenting out the camera entry in the aircraft CFG and the mirror section in the panel config. There is also a set of 2K textures for the shared texture folder.

I submitted a second round of fix requests, but we'll see what happens. Impressed that they addressed the others. The latest (at least for me) include but are not limited to: 1) No APU sounds. 2) No startup sounds for Engine 2. 3) Request for clarity on purpose of APU Valve. Warning light goes on when it is closed, but when it is open, the APU shuts off. Not sure what the valve function/intent is since nothing seems to to work right when it's open, and the yellow warning light doesn't go out when it is closed. 4) Grainy/fuzzy windows in spot view. 5) Engine RPM gauge behavior, to include lag and un-commanded power dips. (Rotor RPM seems fine, it's Engine RPM that seems finicky). 6) Need for mapping of Avionics master switch to keypress or joystick to turn on/off GPS and/or radios....

Sorry Brian, on hold to finish a couple other small projects. I still have the right side avionics to draw (about 12 in all) then it's finished.

Paul, I donít have the Hurricane but I have a thought about the frame rates. I have an older system as well and have discovered that the functional mirrors on the A2A products have a drastic effect on frame rates. Once disabled the frame rates return to normal levels. Maybe the Hurricane rear view mirror has the same effect? Perhaps a question for Baz, can the mirror be switched off? Cheers, Bernard

Hi James, the use of empty land facilities was started by Charles Simpson, IIRC, in order to block out pesky autogen trees from the landing approach by airfields. It looks as though the ETO team found it good to mask autogen stuff near HA facilities, too. Maybe having houses pop up next to large active gunnery installations looked a bit silly. Anyway, thats my best guess!

Just to clarify, I haven't done anything with the cockpit textures. I was working on updating the B-57B with hi-res repaints (based on some B-57B's that my father flew in combat) after someone here provided me with a model that has a working gun sight, better pilots and metallic material properties. I was going to also add Tacpack (via TMAP) to it, but then I shelved it when couldn't figure out how to separate (and assign visibility conditions to) the bomb bay ordinance in a way that it would still rotate properly. That being said, if I can get permission from them, I'll finish the repaints, etc... and upload it. Would be fantastic to mate it with Falcom409's updated VC textures. This is how it looks so far... about 75% finished... in P3Dv3:

I for one would like to see you do with your quality and selection panel, a Pre-WWII San Francisco Class Heavy Cruiser with working catapaults to set Seaplanes on. Not static or ai but working seaplanes like SOC3 Seagull and the OS2U Kingfisher. Alternative would be a pre-WWII battleship like Pennsylvania or Idaho Class with working catapaults for above seaplanes. I have a thread here that I converted a cruiser to static which is the only way I knew how to get catapaults to be "runways' to put Seagulls on. The USS Idaho that comes with the SOC3 Seagull or the OS2U Kingfisher is just that an "airport" in the ocean that doesn't move. Would be great to have an AI cruiser or battleship with working catapaults and guns. That would be a challenge for you.
