On Steam, my initial update was ~300mb. To access the Japan World Update download, you must add it to your account via the in-game marketplace (it's free). Edit: Upon restarting the sim, after already downloading the Japan content from the marketplace, I was met with an ~8GB update.

Rami, You are welcome... I dont think it is going to be 30 missions long, since it will be semi-dynamic, ie: out of the 21 misions I've built so far, at least 6 are alternates for others. I am taking a short break from mission building for a while though. I am re-flying each mission built, fixing and fine tuning, taking screen shots and some videos to be edited later. Doing mission 1 now. :) Also, I need a little help with the .air and .dp files of some of these older CFS2 aircraft. I can be specific if you want. FYI: I am currently logged in as Administrator on my computer. For some reason, I cannot post pics, emoji's or use the bold/italics functions. I have to log in on my computer as another user in order to do those tasks. Strange?

One of those things I'll eventually get around to Dave. Not a favourite aircraft but worth tweaking at some point, interesting how many RAZBAM subjects work in P3D. :encouragement:

It is the Japan scenery update. Not sure how long it takes. I haven't opened MSFS yet. Just got back home. I will do so now and tell you how long it took. Okay, it was 661.x MBs and it took me about a minute at 60-68 MB/Sec. Damn thing tricked me into downloading MS Gaming Service, however.

Found it. BBS Simulations sent out emails to all its MSFS Bird Dog customers with a link to the 1.1.0 update. But for many customers, me included, the email got sent to the spam folder. I would not have found out about this by searching on the BBS Forum or website. but by checking the very active discussion on their Facebook page: Many of the problems are indeed fixed. But I'd REALLY like to be able to open the doors and windows of my Bird Dog!

I will delete the original upload and start afresh. This may be tomorrow as real life does draw me away....I think it will be cleaner and give me a chance to do it right.

I concur with the latter 2 posts; not much to add. In fact if one goes through the various installations in a timely and systematic manner, it's not too complicated. It's hardly possible, given the nature of the original CFS3; it's engine and subsequent abandonment by MS, to have an all encompassing single install. It's logical , and even ILS does it, to have separate theatres. All of this is worked on by people dedicating their free time to produce free additions, so IMHO, I would think someone coming to the sim should not begrudge some effort on their side to get it up and running for them.:mixed-smiley-010::wiggle: BTW as this post is about the Stirling, I am still at a loss as to why v. 1.1 is not available here yet.:dizzy:

I enjoy flying down low, but sometimes I also like a bit more speed than most GA aircraft provide. Here are some screenshots I took this past Sunday, treating the Citation like any other regular GA aircraft, maintaining 2,000 ft ASL maximum (below MSP Class B) and keeping it below 250 kts (legal below 10,000 ft).

Why not? In the actual real world there are both civilian and military aviation and sometimes military aviation engages in combat. There are not two separate worlds, one with and one without combat aviation. It's all one world. So why not have a sim that reflects the real world? Something like "as real as it gets?" Considering how easily so many CFS2 aircraft work in FS9, and how many FS9 planes have been converted to CFS2, and even some scenery can be used in both sims, it should be possible and maybe not too difficult to build such a realistic sim.

Yes some sims like the IL2 series require a different approach to upgrades and there are groups working together to create these etc. Newer sims have for profit and freeware. These are added piecemeal in some cases too. CFS3 has evolved to a small group of users who really enjoy the ability to tinker in the software. End users who want a one button update really need to go somewhere else - not to be harsh but we never were a one button group, years ago folks used an install app to help, but all those folks seem to have left us for other activities. It seems that a download now gets what 50-150 hits and years back in the thousands. Yes we are pretty much a closed group just having fun and doing things because we want to, not too much for others but for ourselves. Just the way this...

You can get round the blue canopy by converting the glass texture to PBR. Having converted a few FSX/P3D natural metal models to use PBR, this is the only consistently useful thing about it (in P3D at least)...! DaveQ
