    I just got through converting all of the payware Flight Replicas Bf-109F package's .bmp textures to DDSDXT5 format. Got rid of that black disk for a prop blur with a new texture and added swastikas for those that want them. Also added a repaint of Franz Ziegler's Bf-109F-4. Tried to upload the new textures here at SOH and got a message that the Upload was too large! What gives, the entire package of textures are only 155 MB zipped and the Upload says that zip files can be as large as 715 MB. Please inform.

    Transfered from the Wardbirds Library, I posted it in the wrong place, sorry about that.. I've downloaded the file FS 2004 AI Spitfies.zip from http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=114& id=22689. Both planes, the MK1-A and MK5-B are great and work fine as AI planes. I made myself a p‚intkit for them so I can repaint them as I wish. The only part I can't repaint is the propeller, I can't find it anywhere on the bmp files that come with the download.

    The original tool did not work (following from an old thread). Going from a quick skimm of the thread, it sounds like the mos editor format is the underlying problem. It may be that the later mos editor (in the terrain sdk??) is the one to use: Winder August 15th, 2005, 02:07 Hi Clive, The standard rgn2lso does not work! I had to write an app (in fact I have written a few custom apps) to do this for MAW and OFF - as Charlie says the SDK is incomplete - in many ways.

    From today's Dev Update: Today, we were happy and proud to announce “World Update I: Japan” at the Tokyo Game Show 2020. As always, it took a village to produce this update and we had the help of many teams inside and outside of Microsoft to make this happen. The Bing Maps team delivered 6 incredible photogrammetry cities and an all-new digital elevation map that increases the detail of the entirety of Japan significantly. We also had help from Gaya Simulations, an excellent scenery and airport developer. Gaya created 3 of the airports RJFU – Nagasaki, RJTH – Hachijojima, and RJCK – Kushiro as well as all of the 20 new POIs. Blackshark.ai added a new traditional Japanese building type.     This thread is becoming an interesting read indeed. However, when it comes to threads like "MSFS or FSX?", "P3D or Xplane?" I never really understood the "OR" part. Why couldn't it be an "AND". Keep FSX and install MSFS on a separate drive/partition. You don't have to say goodbye to thousands of $ worth of 3rd party stuff at all.

    Asobo arent going to keep backwards compatibility as a viable option if it places too much restrictions on native code. That's a bit like detuning a ferrari so it can work with crap fuel. Fix is for devs to compile as much complex gauge code into the mdl and/or switch to the new code paradigm ... which is a bit of a head-ache until the sdk is fleshed out... or is this a case of " I need to get my development into MSFS as soon as possible even though it isnt a truly dedicated model " issue.

    Thanks for these! The uv light effects are out of position (too far back) to substitute for the default red cockpit light.     Yes, these are free updates (these have been talked about/described since July, including in this very forum). World Updates, as they are called, are going to be separate from all other updates. Asobo would like to release one every month, but it will likely be closer to one every 2-3 months from what they've stated. Also, it isn't going to cover just a few regions of the world. Their goal is to eventually cover the whole globe with these World Updates, hitting every region/country, but focusing on just one region or country at a time. What each free World Update includes is the latest Bing data and aerial imagery for that region/country, new hand-crafted airports within that region/country, new hand-crafted POI's within that region/country, and new landing challenges and trips within...
