    A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Military skins - World War II Description: Another 'maybe' paint for Nigel's Avro Tutor. We know that at outbreak of WW2, Belgium handed their surviving Avro's (from original complement of 12) off to the French. It is known some went to Vichy forces in Algeria for pilot training, but what about the rest , did one escape to Switzerland to be impressed there? Swiss records would appear to say no; but who knows... there has to be a link to the one the German Luftwaffe had.

    The paint appears to be done at this point, though there are always things that can be improved. The pilot has chosen not to paint the more typical yellow nose on his aircraft. Upper Fuselage has no gray for better anti glare effects. I believe the final result came out reasonably nice looking. Now to get back to one of the more interesting projects. - Ivan.

    Sorry for the bad title pun, but it's actually at the root of my question. Is there a way to retrofit a lighting effect to an aircraft whose landing light doesn't properly "paint" the ground and/or surroundings? I believe there's more to this than merely grabbing an effect you like and throwing it onto the plane's section. For example, the recent RFN F-8 Crusader has a spectacular landing light effect - it illuminates the ground and the immediate surfaces (such as other aircraft on a carrier deck) in front of it quite beautifully. By contrast, the landing lights on neither the FSXBA F/A-18 nor the Dino F-14 really cast much useful light at all, and do not "paint" anything at night. No problem, right?     Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I don't speak .xml-ese, or at least not very well. I still have FSX installed, so I can always go back to the original FSX planes, get the various payload weights from the FSX payload manager, and then manually enter the relevant weights in the relevant stations using the default P3D payload manager. It's not an elegant solution, and I would have to do it each time I took the planes up, but it should work. I'll still take a look at the payload managers, and see if I can figure something out (all the planes mentioned use .xml gauges, as I recall). At least I know now where to look, and I have planes whose payload managers do use the XMLTools64 file, so perhaps I can look at those to get some idea. Thanks again for the reply. - RobM
