Sounds right. Aren't there some W40 prefixed 109s in ETO, presumably with the v4.0 FM? And good cockpits?

Keeping true to form, I accidentally forgot to add two texture files. These are for the AGM-65 missile. They'll need to go into Scenedb/weapons/texture folder. Sorry 'bout that. Dave

Many of the gauges man not work in FSX and they are made from the FS2000 SDK. No idea if CFS2 gauges where used in FSX as well. Take off speed in CFS2 is 90 MPH True on land and 120 MPH True on water. I think FSX is like FS04 and will take data from the .air file and place it into the aircraft.cfg so you can edit things like engines and wings. If you not able to get up to speed I would go and pull the engine and prop data from a FSX F4F Wildcat aircraft.cfg as that is the engines and props that I'm using in CFS2. If you have a lack of lift you can mess with the cruise_lift_scalar or the wing it self.

I ended up getting the FSAddon's Hudson package, mainly because it had more civilian models but noticed some strange things with some of the textures. This is the base Model 14, SAA would not be my first choice of liveries and the blue is way oversaturated but its not too bad. This is the civilian livery for the Mark 3 from the expansion pack, as you can see something is not quite right with the textures.

Ivan started a thread Airacobra in CFS1 General Discussion
This thread will describe the construction of a Bell P-39 Airacobra for Combat Flight Simulator. Over the last several months, I have been heavily involved in discussions about the design issues, performance, and handling issues that resulted from the location of the engine behind the pilot instead of its usual location at the nose to drive a tractor propeller. Some pilots loved the 'Cobra. Some hated it and thought it was the worst production fighter built by the United States. I have always thought the Airacobra was a fascinating design and this will be my attempt to build one. As with most projects, one has to decide upon a version to build. The Airacobra was a fighter, so the version to build should be one that saw service as a principal front line fighter. My own choice...

Well, no dice with that new installer, Tgy. I appreciate you sharing it though. OK, here's a more concrete question: when @War and/or CCP are installed, where are they reading the FSX install path from? I see in ASToFra.FSUtils.dll, there is a call for "get_FSXPath", and further down that .dll, (line 1918), the standard FSX install path is stored (c:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator x). Where is that install path being read from during the @War or CCP install? My assumption would be the registry. I've tried to modify the reg key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0\AppPath" key to the actual install location on the F: drive, thus bypassing the symlink... but when I then install @War and view that .dll, it has the same...

As I wrote before here, Javier Trinidad's Hawaii Photoreal scenery and George Keogh's Hawaiian Airport Packs are really astonishing. And Molokini (near Maui) is faithfully depicted:

Oh also I can import controls from other planes and they kinda work exsept when it comes to the starter switch’s they try but then they switch back by them selfs be for the engens start. Some of the other planes gages work to. Figure them out and it may work. Biggest part is the grounded duck part.

Ctrl e will fire and start the engens. Sound was not working so I just copied some sound files from another in to the l16 folder and that gave it sound. With engines on and full throttle it will move down the runway. But will not take off it will point up to left off the ground but that’s it. She is a grounded duck.

Thanks guys. This was all inspired by Rockster's package. He had done something similar several years back. I flew the rivets off of that one. :playful: Learned a lot doing this. Almost done with its second half. The USS Bainbridge. :icon29: Dave

Wow! Dislike the publisher but love the direction they are going. Now can potentially have two of my all time favorite sims (Jane's F15 Strike Eagle and Jane's F/A-18) from the past, brought up to modern graphical and technical standards. This will go great with the Persian Gulf map.
