Hi John, Thanks, the Spitfire belonged to Sqn Ldr A C Rawlings, 79 Sqn RAAF based at Vivigani and Kiriwina New Guinea, June-November 1943 The frame rates are fine for the mesh. I have one for Vivigani too which didn't need any adjustment, but I didn't do much else for PNG as like all new mesh the runways will need adjustment. I used a combination of HGT and 1 arc/sec .bil files. The HGT data is available here Coverage map viewfinderpanoramas.org and the .bil data here EarthExplorer (usgs.gov). I used VTBuilder.exe and FSTerrain 2002. I had to use the FS2000 resamble.exe to get any significant results and made some batch files to compile it. FSTerrain will load the HGT data fine but for the .bil data I needed to import them into VTBuilder and export them as a RAW image. It will...

In spite of promises, RAZBAM has yet to produce a paint kit for their A-6 series of AI Carriers-capable aircraft, so, I kinda made one. This is a KA-6D (tanker equipped) version from VA-75 "Sunday Punchers" circa 1974- 1976 in Airwing 3 aboard CV-60. A photo of a real one is included. A-6s normally carried a MODEX in the 500 series. KA-6Ds were rebuilt A-6As and had no radar or inertial nav systems. The old non-functional fuselage "swiss cheese" speed brake panels were bolted shut as opposed to production later models with the wells paneled over. They also used a green anti collision light system when aboard ship to readily find them at night. Tankers typically were painted with a "belly band" in squadron color(s) and were numbered in the 520s. I recall we had 10 attack A-6Es...

A link to where or how I can get it would be highly appreciated, especially the mods you mention, for that Whirlwind is a favorite. hertzie.

Such a stylish and graceful aircraft. Be sure to look at the manual, for all of the cockpit clickspots/features.

Ooh, lovely Spitfire :greenfire: So many questions about the mesh... Frame rates OK? How was it made? I've had no success at all with any of the (old) mesh tools I've tried using. In many cases they're asking for a source DEM in a file format that I either can't find, or is not as accurate a set as Rhumbas mesh (itself derived from Shuttle mission DEM). Sometimes it would be nice just to tweak some small scenery areas with some more detailed mesh... :censored:

Unless I am mistaken, I believe that all repaints from Dreamwings Dash 8 are compatible with Eagle Rotocraft Dash 8 model bases. Regards, Aharon

I also have a G2 and have the same issue. I even bump the headset on my yoke now and then as I lean in to get closer to the panel. It helps to map a button to cycle through the various panel cameras rather than try to peer at them from the normal pilot view. August

Thank you everyone for the ideas. I played around with the CJ4 and liked it. The only issue I had was I found it hard to read the PFD, MFD, and especially the FMS with my HP G2 VR headset. I had to lean in to see what I the icon meant. I will read the manual and watch vidios this weekend.

This is today's entry and it sure is beautifulo IMO. Also here is a link to a very complete thread to it here on the Outhouse. Check it out. https://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/108955-Boeing-P-26-Peashooter. Razbam also has a payware version you can find with a Google search if you want to check IT out too. Have a great day today. Richard:wavey:

Even though I recommended the Honda above, I'd have to agree that the stock CJ4 also is a good choice. Now that the Working Title mod is integrated with the base sim, it's a lot better than originally, and if you get the free PMS GNS750, you can pop that up for nav and flight planning and not mess with the FMS.
