It is in the paintkit, look for the alpha layers (group). Its set up for both painted and metal surfaces. You'll need to play around with the different layers to get the look your after. Joe

Searchlights. Yes work has been done on them re using with Ankors by Dan (gecko). I'll give you more on this later. Also of course WOTR has them as well but assume similar to WOFF. Aircraft. There is a group hopefully about to release BoB era Spitfires which would include similar effects as in the Fw190's and later Spitfires. There is also a group lead by Ton Fouteman whoc are trying to update BoB/Blitz era aircraft in general. BoB in general. I'm not sure what your goals are WRT your BoB, but I assume you have studied Clive's stand alone and also what is in ETO era 2. I in fact try to combine both into ETO, but they also could both be combined into Clives as a stand alone BoB which could be extended into the Blitz. It might be worth your while to discuss your plans with others...

I have both quixel and SP. Cant use quixel now, but substance's learning curve was real shallow compared to quixel. If you understand masks and layers in photoshop then you're over 50 % there. In both cases though the time is in the preparation of the model. Ask Baz how many hours he "lost" on elite on the amstrad 6128 back in the day! He still regales us over his encounters of thargoids and that he got to archangel status. It is a bit like how if we had made the jump from FS 98 to P3d v4.4, you can see the family resemblance, the core of it is the same but wow what a difference. Oh and you're not stuck in a cobra mk3. The only negative : other real world people. You can turn off that aspect but then it becomes a "space trade sim" at least for me. So small doses ! :santahat: Navy...

Hi everyone, It's been a very long time since I've posted here. Had a lot going on in real life as well as in CFS3. I went back to school to finish my undergrad and had to put CFS3's Battle of Britain on hold for a while. However, I'm done for Christmas break and have a lot of time to work on it until my girlfriend gets here on the 27th. I've been visiting around the forums and have kept up to date on the developments and improvements with CFS3. It's truly amazing what has been done! I've got a few questions as I've been playing around a bit with AnKor's D3D8.dll file and Steven's FW-190 files. 1) Would it be possible to integrate the cockpit damage model from the FW-190's into other aircraft - specifically Hurricanes, Spitfires, 109's, Stuka's, and other Battle of Britain...

"Mack," If this problem persists, I can reconstitute the download and redo the installer without the password. Without having Windows 10, my expertise and ability to intervene is limited.

...has anyone tried this in P3D V4+? I'm thinking about getting it (frankly so that I can mod the Neptune-- hopefully with mixed Jet and Prop power. Would like to hear any impressions of it in P3D. Thanks, Kent

Moving through the learning curve. I used the 3D test model to set up a texture target map that I can refer to when I build different metal types. This model is based on a 50% gray albedo and a pure white to pure black metallic target. After exporting the model I used MCX to add environment reflections and Fresnel to the .mdl, and place the model in V4.4 I can view the model in real time, motion, weather and lighting, then pick the shade of albedo color I want. In the case of an aluminum, I can build the metal texture in Quixel Mixer or Substance Painter, then translate that texture to meet the gray value required for proper reflectivity and gloss. After building the model I have a very comfortable understanding of the work flow, which I can translate to metal or painted...

I've never heard of affinity, but I just went and checked it out. It's on sale for the holidays. I've been thinking of updating to a new i-Pad and this could be great for it. I have PS and Quixel at home for the desktop. I just have to learn to use Quixel now.
