I'm working on a new 2D cockpit for the P-38J model. Morton has a nice one for an P-38F and G, but the P-38J panel was totally different. I still have the engine controls and radios panels to do, BUT,,,, I'm conflicted whether to include a moving control yoke or not (get it? nudge, nudge, wink, wink) So this is a bit of an opinion poll. What is your preference? Panel without a yoke. Panel with a yoke.

I'm not sure how a mission.xml would determine that. What mission? Maybe they were trying to surrender?:jump:

These look much better than the WOTR version! Just wish we had other improvements like their AI and scenery! Then we would get more people back here. To digress further, anyone know why we don't have a spot on SimHQ to spread the good news?

Here is a link to the VTP SBX files. They can be loaded into SBuilder9 or SbuilderX for some reworking. (SBuilderX files would need to be converted to SBuilder9 SBX files.) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1SGp_ea5HCOJkbxTo1tVp2BiVe-F5t_RO?usp=sharing Enjoy. Still compiling... :banghead:

Thanks stansdds! Uploaded today, along with a repaint of 89075 from VU-3 at China Lake. Some 150 JD-1's were supplied to the U.S. Navy and in use up until the early 1960's. The majority were from cancelled RAF orders, others from surplus stock. They were used by 7 utility squadrons for a number of secondary roles, including Ryan Firebee drone control and for target towing. Most were modified with a new observation station in a glazed nose. For my next trick I'm going to try converting this to P3Dv4.4 and doing the PBR thing on it. This will give a more realistic finish to the paint.:encouragement: Also uploaded a modification to the bomb door switch in the vc to enable the doors to be opened from the panel - this applies to all military models with functioning bomb doors.

Nigel's Avro dressed as an aeroplane operating in Netherlands East Indies @ 1941- Feb 1942 ; You'll note it has no 'orange' rudder and no marks on top of the wings; this is correct for the time period. I found a reference on IPMS site that stated part way though 1941 these were removed as aircraft were still being shot down by friendly fire (although how one confuses a bright orange triangle with a blood red roundel?). After Feb 1942 the national tricolor marks were applied. So... how did this one end up in Netherlands East Indies.... entirely plausible it was one of the Kwangsi aeroplanes, that made its way to the N.E.I and was impressed into service under new management. The serial number '53' is a bit fanciful (besides it meant I didn't have to adjust the donor texture...

Yep, that was my idea as to how to validate any such endurance flight, but since this requires refueling, I asked the obvious question (to me anyway), "wouldn't the duenna invalidate the flight if it showed a refuel during the flight?". If it would show a refuel but continue to monitor the on-going stats that would be fine, but if it automatically invalidated the flight and stopped recording. . .oh well.

If you make a new AFCAD or ADE airport file it will replace the original and those airborne runways will disappear. ADE allows whatever hangars that you want. You just need to study the manual and learn how to add libraries to ADE.

It is unlimited. The gunsight I did for the new Spitfire Mk.II is composed of 61 different reticles. What are you trying to make?

Thanks guys, I played with my CFS2 FSSC and made a flatten which took the elevation of the errant airfield down to proper elevation. I now have 2 grass runways suspended at 121.7 feet elevation, but they are hardly noticeable. Now to educate myself on placing different hangars than ADE allows in that library. The ones in ADE are not even close to those used at KMLB. Between the terminal and next to the start of 27L is a large airline maintenance shop with single door hangar big enough to enclose a 747. Just south of it is a open front hangar big enough to pull A320s into. That shop currently has several B737-800/900 MAX sitting there, most AAL because they repaint most or all of American Airlines' aircraft.
