Does anyone know if it's possible to remove that GPS unit, and just have a clear landing view? The hotspot that removes the gunsight and brings up the GPS/Moving Map Display. For me is unreadable, poor eyesight, and unusable. But I really like the clear view over the nose on landing. I'd like to find a way to do away with the GPS unit all together.

I'm currently updating (or at least trying to, anyway) one of Master Ito's birds for Platinum Wings by using Allan's tutorial series and GMAX. It's for one of the planes that can't be found because nobody (other than one other person) has made it, despite the fact it's smaller brother is available. Still a lot to go on that one, but I've been working on this on and off for about a year now. It seems real life gets in the way every time I make some headway, but at least I'm making headway none the less. I'm also doing some general updates to some of his other birds that are fine "as-is" except for the handling and the air file/cfg file entries (for example, most of his birds are "jets" when they should be "prop" instead). It'll be one of the things I upload next, when I...

Hi All There is a mistake in the .dp files of all of my Cleveland Class Cruisers. 40mm Guns 6 and 7 are set to 'flak' which is a little spectacular but takes up a bit of CPU. It should read ; 40mm Gun6 gunstation.6=0,-28,1,1.25,847,4,0.1,6797,6,20,1d1*40,5.873,17.108,18.914,0,0,90,-75,75,85,-5,30.4 ; 40mm Gun7

Sure. Over the years, I have collected most of these, but one gets wrapped up in looking for the Holy Grail of simming, and forgetting how much fun there is with the older stuff. Sad that a lot has disappeared from the web, with sites closing down, and developers moving and passing on. Thankfully, SOH has saved Garry's Ford Tri-Motor project site from vanishing. I often did up Bill & Lynn Lyons's stuff as well. Always with a story & a car or boat. As for their Graf Zeppelin.. :applause:

also - The P-47 Thunderbolt was powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp 18-cylinder radial engine 1. To enhance engine performance, the exhaust gases were routed into a pair of wastegate-equipped pipes. These pipes ran along each side of the cockpit and drove the turbosupercharger turbine located at the bottom of the fuselage. The material used for these exhaust pipes was duralumin. At full power, these pipes would glow red at their forward ends, and the turbine would spin at an impressive 21,300 rpm 1.

not directly - but he refers to the 'crash skid' reinforcements of the lower fuselage The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, a formidable World War II fighter aircraft, featured several distinctive components. Letís delve into the details of the lower fuselage crash skid: Crash Skid: The crash skid was a crucial part of the P-47ís design, situated in the lower section of the fuselage. Its primary purpose was to support and protect the underside of the airframe during emergency landings.

You're like me... always searching for something a little off the beaten path everyone else takes. Burt Rutan's ARES Close Air Support jet fighter, the CV-10 "CargoBronc" adapted from the OV-10 Bronco, and the Navy version of the F-117 Nighthawk. :pirate:

I downloaded to test and looks OK to me: Comp layers are for the roughmets and AO and diffuse layers for the albedo.

DaleRFU started a thread RAF Bruggen in MSFS (FS2020)
Hello all, I am please to present to you RAF Bruggen in Germany for MSFS. The original author Manfred who created this wonderful scenery for P3D has kindly given his permission for me to convert the scenery to MSFS. There is still plenty of work to do but progress is going well. Being a bit bored, I started trawling various libraries, & I found some gems from way back, and what I found really symbolizes the Fun & Fiction side of our hobby. I re-discovered Kazunori Ito's creations, and what fun they are.. :jump: I've spent the last couple of hours building up my collection. I'm not going to say what I've downloaded, as I hope that others finding his downloads will be as excited as I was finding them, ranging from P82 Twin Mustangs to some very interesting Science Fiction Animation craft. I even found a train & coaches. Some of his planes are unique, where the craft actually changes shape when certain keys are pressed. I had to look in various libraries, obviously here, SurClaro, Simviation & Flightsim. This is, for me, what simming is all about.....

Wonderful work John. Love the Mosquito Steve has converted for us ! Exciting. Also looking forward to the Ju-88's. Nigel and Rene are working on some of Jon Pratt's wonderful work. A bunch of the Fw 190D series, and some wonderful Fw 190A's,(much later). Thanks to all involved for keeping CFS3 alive and well after all these years. Still my favorite WW II sim ! This is going to be a great year ! Regards, Scott

As far as I could tell, it doesn't mention anything about the external stainless steel in that video.
