    Recently I decided to have another go at the Folland Gnat. Six Years ago I was apparently on the cusp of releasing an extensive update for the Gnat and then for some reason I stopped and never finished it (found the original thread from that time). Anyway. I am at a point where I am replacing the fuzzy avionics art that was in it with crisp replacements and there are some gauges that I cannot find (The Trim System for one) and I was hoping that "Avialogs" would surely have plenty on the Gnat. . .not a single page, lol. I've tried looking through images using every search wording I can think of. No one takes close-up photos of cockpits, they seem to prefer what I call "Artsy Fartsy" glamour shots. . .of no use at all unless you want to see what a cockpit looks like from 20' away, lol....

    Hi all,Starting to learn more about painting in XP11, so thought I would try some baremetal on the Aeroworx c-47, based on my favorite plane from Manfred Jahn. Went to download the paintkit here at SOH, but the link has been removed. if anyone knows of a link that works, I'd appreciate access to the file. Im away from my home storage drives for 2 months.thanks.

    The bdp is a file that the sim creates for each aircraft using information from the aircraft's other files. Some of its contents are a bit of a mystery, but some of it you can plainly see. Generally speaking though, that isn't the file you want to edit. In your case, the file you want to edit is the xdp, which can be opened in a basic text editor. After you make edits, you should always delete the bdp, so that it will be regenerated with the changes you made in the xdp.

    Yes it will be required, but not just for P3D, FSX as well. The update is an aircraft.cfg update, AIR file update, additional airtanker operator liveries, some optional effects added, and new sounds. The update is planned to be a drop in replacement of the stock files listed above for either FSX or P3D versions of their Remastered Neptune. No models, panels, or core files like that. I have this setup for the new firebomber versions included in their remastered release of them. But the only thing that would really need to be done would be to adjust the Navy version's operating weights to make the .cfg fit the Navy variants. And maybe rename the payload station I added if you so wished. In theory this update would likely even work with their old FSX/FS2004 models as far as I could tell...

    I'm wondering where the game get's it's information for the aircraft .bdp file.....especially after you delete the original? I've made a skin for the PTO RS B-24J model and tried to edit the information showing in-game describing where the plane came from and it's history etc. (you'll find the info in-game when you select a plane from the Aircraft list as a pull out menu). However, using a Hex editor on the .bdp only messed up the file apparently (I had to remove it since I was getting a lockup when loading the game......"Mission file not loading" is what the error message said). When I removed the entire newly made aircraft folder, the game loaded fine. After removing the newly edited .bdp file in the new plane folder, the game loaded and I could find the new plane, start a QC with it,...

    XXX, YYY, ZZZ X numbers for forward to aft of aircraft (0.00 position) is starting location or center of gravity or whatever the developer is using. Usually more positive number moves aft and more negative moves forward. TRIAL AND ERROR Y numbers for center of aircraft to left or right wingtip depending on plus or minus Z numbers for up or down depending on more positive number or more negative. Looks like you have smoke for a 4 engine aircraft. Smoke.0 and smoke.3 for the outer engines smoke.1 and smoke.2 for the inner engines.

    First set of number (left/right) Second Set of numbers (fwd/back) Third Set of numbers (up/down) Precise positioning will be strictly trial and error.

    Shalom and greetings all my pals, Please be kind enough to take look at this smoke system of aircraft.cfg as seen below. If I want to move smoke little bit back and move smoke very little bit up, what numbers do I need to change in this smoke system, please to have precise corrected location of smoke coming out of engines, please?     I added this .WAV file as a triggered "Play Priority Sound" event. Just as the bombers I'm escorting get 10 miles outside of Bremen it pops up. What a great sound effect! Thanks for your help guys! Some time ago I uploaded a few more home made .WAV files like this and they can be found here :

    I did a Google search to see what animals were around Ryan Field, MT 2MT1 and I found this site that I thought would be of interest in this thread: Its called The Airfield Guide and you can get a briefing of Ryan Field and for hundreds of "Back Country Airstrips". Cees will have to find some Elk for FSX to add to the scenery for Ryan Field, LOL!
