Took a break from campaign missions. Owen (HH) wrote quite a few scripted missions for Pat's BoB. One of my favourites is Mission 707, where you have to defend a convoy off the east coast of England. A combination of AA and defending aircraft combine to bring down this Ju88 over the convoy. Boy this Ju87 burns well

I took the Pucara for a night flight - nice red glow on the instrument panel. Landing lights are great - never realised that there's one on the nose leg which of course steers with the wheel. I note the crew figures have a green glow on them. I presume that this is from the green HUD - still looks good either way.:ernaehrung004:

The flight to the intercept point is fairly uneventful. Then we meet 16 Do 17s in two flights, together with 6 escorting Me109Es. The Me109s hold us up at high altitude whilst the mission target slips by below at about 12,000 feet. Some bombers target the mainland, but others seem attracted to a small battle group of a cruiser with three destroyers. We are busy surviving the Me109s; luckily the flak from the warships accounts for some of the bombers Ankors shaders and good skins make our targets look pretty good. . . We do not do much damage to the bomber formation but enough for the mission objectives to be met. Only five out of eight spitfires manage to return to base, and some are looking pretty sorry for themselves. I crashed on landing - very lucky to walk away. But...

progress is being made on a Campaign Package for Pat's BoB. To start with, a global_layer selector is used, where you choose a global layer depending on whom you wish to fly for: RAF 10 Group, 11 Group, German, Italian, etc. The global layer for flying a career as a 10 Group fighter pilot restricts the available airbases to those found in 10 Group (more or less). Spawning also needs to be set - no spawns (for scripted missions) or spawns for flying as an Allied or Axis nation. So before even starting a new campaign two bat files need to be run.

Hi James, your two choices are intercept and intercept_bomber. But all of this stuff is in the Mission Scripting SDK: your go-to for writing missions?

Thank you most kindly for compliments and information, bomber12th! Very interesting- it would seem you have a wealth of knowledge on the P-51! Hope you're enjoying the paints- I also have another I've been fiddling with heading up to the library now. Also for the "Restored Part 2" add-on, but as discussed should work for the others with some minor tweaking.

You're welcome. Happy flying! The VC issues for FSX users is being addressed, but since it was never touched during the whole process I'm not sure why this issue persists in only FSX. I haven't had a single report of VC issues in P3D. So I think it's a file problem or related issue between the sims. I really don't want to suggest people find one of the FSX native converted SGA DC-10 just to replace the interior model and panel with, but it may be at least an interim solution. The aileron animations and gear problems on the -10 model are also being ironed out. So far the -30 model seems to be fine and the animation issue seems to be isolated to just the -10. Thank you all for your patience and reports.

Now this is a bit deep, but I've trying to work out how Fs9 'knows' where ac are in sim time and space. I could understand if it uses the ac's gauges, but it still know's where ac are even when there are no panels or gauges fitted, and even an ac made of one poly. When using one of the airbourne radar add-ons, it will tell me where other ac are including height, direction and speed (and many of these are simple AI ac), but does not see any ac on the ground, moving or stationary. The odd thing is that CFS2 and 3 have built in sim 'radars' or indicator panels, which show where ac or ships are, so surface object info is there and useable in these sims, but not in Fs9. The reason is that I would like to create surface sea craft, which will be seen by radar as an ac, which at the...

MB uses aircraft folder name when loading aircraft and ship. The only way I can thing MB can be messed up like this is if you have aircraft that use fltsim.0, fltsim.1 .ect. in the aircraft.cfg
