I own FSX Box and Acceleration on Disk so I will be flying that with all my addons as long as I want to. I don't know what the ones on FSX(Steam) will do if they pull the plug on that. Perhaps go to P3DV2 or P3DV3 both of which my computer will run because the FSX stuff is compatible I believe. FS2020 is truly beautiful I agree but when I'm flying in an aircraft that I repainted to and from airports that I created I'm truly a happy simmer. :biggrin-new:

That's fantastic that you were able to be there, Denny! It was an event I would have loved to have gone to (I'm very glad for the Youtube video!). I do plan to make a trip to Everett once the Stuka is completed and flying. Speaking of the FHCAM He-111/CASA - now, as of about a week ago or so, they were masking out and painting the German crosses on it, based on a few photos that were posted of it on Facebook (now since removed, obviously at the request of the FHCAM). They've made quite a bit of progress on the aircraft this year, since seeing a photo of it taken back in January.

Thanks MR. I checked for case sensitivity by looking into the Layout file used to generate the gsl for the area. The object names there match the names in my Objects_DP folder. Like you I suspected cfs2 to be case sensitive, but I haven't tested that yet. For objects without CDPs....too late. I already put the cleaners through! I've just been going through the Objects_DP folder and removing a bunch of DPs that aren't called for in this install. I just tried Ian Astill's but ticking Full Control in Properties makes no difference to my problem. I feel like I've wandered off the rock shelf and am now in deep water.

Yea the P3Dv3 section is pita for this type of FSX effects. Don't have P3Dv4 so don't know if it's any different. Adding n1, n2, n3, etc. would give the smoke gauge more stages. Anyways I've added more goodies (animation) to the effects! When all the animation is set next will be resizing the flame somewhat. The weekend is here and will be on it Monday.

I think that's a given for MSFS being on Windows 10 since Xbox is on that OS. As for FSX who knows maybe an update to DX11 giving it a little more life.

One way to get an idea which ones are safe to remove is by deleting all objects.dps that have no accompanying cdp file. Don't actually delete them just put them into some sort of "On-Hold" folder inside the OBJECTS_DP folder. Of course if you have recently deleted all of your cdp files this would be a non starter. If you happen to have a recent back-up of your CFS2 install. You might go into that backed up OBJECTS_DP folder and see if the cdp files are there. If they are you can copy them over to your active install and proceed. Another way to proceed is by theater. If you do most of your flying in Europe then there is very little need for, say, all of the Lindsay Watt palm tree objects and so forth. Also, I would not be at all surprised if the object dp entries are case...

To the question of too many Objects.dp. How do you determine which ones you can eliminate without messing up the particular install if you think you have too many. I remember something somewhere about eliminating CFS 1 objects. ???

Thanks Shadow, I did check my object entries about 2 weeks ago and am probably somewhere near the limit. When I installed all of Robert's rail objects I got an error message telling me I might have to reinstall the sim. I was able to proceed after reducing the number of rail objects. What troubles me about the current problem is that the missing objects are there, the sim starts after I click through all the missing object messages and there isn't any increase in objects compared to last week. Thanks for the reminder; I'll do a new object check. I haven't tried the Mission Builder yet but I wouldn't be surprised if that gives me error messages too. Ian, thanks. That's a very interesting idea. I will check it out now. I am hoping that the problem does not reside in my Flanders GSL...

I have a Microsoft Account...I have an Xbox profile...every time I try and open up to see the updates all I get is an unexpected error try again later. I would really like to try and be a part of the Alpha team to see if this will work on my system and how but am getting very frustrated with this. You got any ideas?:banghead: Managing to get in by repeatedly pressing enter I'm in now an hour later I may get something to work who knows. This is probably the most confusing thing I have tried to do in a long time but I finally got an answer...I am Windows 7 NOT Windows 10 so I cannot get an Xbox APP and therefore cannot participate. That's OK. I am relaying this to anyone else who is not on Windows 10 or later don't bother trying.

That will be in violation of consumer protection laws .... unless they just put in place a process where activation is no longer required....;)

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Civilian propeller skins Description: 'Make Believe' Paint for Nigel's Avro Tutor. Here painted in the style of Breitling Aerobatic team; imagine more Tutors' had survived WW2 than really did; and are used today on the show scene. Will probably also work on the float variant too ; you'll need to add a suitable floats texture file (copy and paste one from a suitable donor) also includes the nocowl model that Nigel kindly modified. FS9 as I don't run FSX sorry.
