If it doesn't show up in Task Manager, something must be killing it at about the point it shows the opening screen? Have you tried Repair yet? Have you checked Windows Error log?

Beautiful flying machine, but I can't get the "Volts" light to go out on the warning panel. I've got the generator on and am following the startup checklist. Am I missing a switch somewhere? Reggie

Matt, I am more CPU bound than GPU. I run a 1080p projector. I run one GPU for the projector and the other for the touch screen displays that handle the instruments. I have never seen the GPU hit more than 35-40% usage. I will sometimes see the sim pause for a few seconds, I assume loading textures, before starting again. I don't know if that is GPU memory ( 4GBs) or system memory (16GBs) related. A new 1080Ti would be one, to test the above memory pausing and two, as a pre-purchase toward a new system that I plan on building someday. I have been reading posts and articles on new CPUs and MBs for at least six months now. My system handles just about everything expect for the VRS F-18. That aircraft and Orbz regions (or big 3rd party airports) will bring the FPS down to 6-8 FPS when...

Very sad to hear this about Martin. He was always an inspiration, helpful and very supportive behind the scenes and online. I have missed him this past year as he stepped away to focus on other things, and will certainly miss his presence here. My condolences to Martin's family and friends.

For 1950's electro-optical technology the viewfinder was a pretty clever piece of gear. The moving lines of the "traveling grid" were adjusted so they were in sync with the ground movement under the aircraft. That set up your cameras to compensate for the motion of the aircraft when the pictures were snapped. I recall the lines got larger and moved faster as they moved down the viewfinder lens. Cycle rate of the camera was set depending on how much...

Thank you Jay for taking the time to post your findings and settings. While I am currently over on the dark side, I have always had a soft spot for AMD. I want to see them succeed.

as cpus come down gpus go up, honestly you cant say you werent expecting that, most games now rely on gpu rather than cpu jmig have you thought about going SLI with a second 980 instead of a 1080 im running SLI with 980s and have extremely great performance, i would only be going backwards if i went to a single 1080

im with v56, as from 57 onwards a lot of 3rd party addons wont integrate ie download accelerators, dictionaries (and I need them) 55 and 56 were the most stable ive encountered, you can always go to the legacy page and download a older version, just remember to turn off auto updates

hello zswobbie, i don't have a windows10 machine, so, i can't speak from experience. all i can do is echo what others have posted. according to Killer Svend's thread last month, he used an old cfs1 install on an external hard drive and it worked fine. now, i am curious to hear back from RickN, whether or not he was successful or not. sorry, that's all i've got.
