--> Sometimes the screenshots need no commentary... yet this seldom stops me. :playful: For you Milton, an hour's flight in Switzerland this day in a favorite plane and skins, an hour well spent. Images were framed to help view the relative darkness of the Sundown shots...

A couple of years ago, Ed was nice enough to offer to model a small local airport for me. I had always been fascinated by F69 as it had stood the test of time as suburban sprawl encroached around it since the mid 1960's. Over the years developers have tried to buy the land but all have failed. There used to be a Cessna flying school based there in the 1970's and 80's, way before the surrounding land became strip malls etc. The FBO was real nice and gave me permission to wander the airport freely to take photos (which Ed needed for the project). All the FBO said really was watch out for any aircraft coming and going. The concrete open hangar structure was completed in 1966:

Huub- Thanks for the additional history. She's a keeper in my FS2004. Says a lot, as I'm only at an even dozen planes in my hanger. Keeping it light and simple, nearly got everything wanted regarding planes and scenery. rg- You're making some nice skins! Seeing how many liveries you've mentioned having, is there a repaint of this one perchance?: https://www.airlinkinternationalaviationcollege.edu.ph/facilities/our-airplanes wombat- Go Big Red! :biggrin-new: Nice skins for the big gal, fresh and clean. You do those? Another flight lately, this time in a great model by Manfred Jahn (with custom animations by Hansjoerg Maegele and replacement VC textures by Marvin Carter). Flew her for dozens and dozens of hours in FSX years ago. Hopped right in, fastened my seatbelt, and flew...

Yea I live right near this Airpark, it sits right next to a home depot and a high school, so there isn't usually that much in terms of vegetation, in fact there actually isn't really any trees near the airpark, not like what it is in FSX, but none the less, great work!

Thanks very much John. It's still. WIP bit Ira getting there. And you're right. This same aircraft was originally flown by Flatley in int blue over gray as "00". It was updated while in service with air wing 5 aboard Yorktown to the tri-color scheme with the "non-standard" n s sea blue extending down the side to the wing. Many early int blue over gray front line dash 3s were painted in the same manner - with the n s sea blue extending down the side.

Wow! Your attention to detail is simply stunning. It makes me want to find a way to walk around the field virtually to take in the details.

Well, I went through the process of uninstalling the client; then reinstallng it. Was able to install textures from PTA preset. Looked ok. Decided to try another preset, but installed with same type of errors as my original post. I spent about three hours going through the same process, again and again, but was never able to successfully install textures with PTA again. Way too frustrating, so I threw in the towel. Just not worth the hours of tediousness! I will stick with FlyInside for now. NC

Fantastic work, Duckie! I really like the refined texturing. That particular one must have been one of the early F6F-3's that entered service in just intermediate blue over white and then later had the tri-color non-specular sea blue added over the top while in service (and later stars & bars added in service as well).
