I was more referring to ground blurries (late ground tile updates) than sim smoothness. Some people indeed reported better smoothness when deactivating the hyperthreading. But that's another problem. And concerning the blurries, sometimes this problem just defies pure logic. For example, on my i7 8700k, I get severe ground blurries when I set the sim to limited FPS, and the textures stay crisp until around Mach 1 if I set the FPS to unlimited... it should be the contrary, normally. And the same happens on my brothers computer, and also same with the computer of another friend (all are 8700k). Nevertheless, the amound of cores plays a great role in terrain loading. Terrain loading is the one and only thing in FSX and P3D that uses the other cores (other than core0) anyways.

And there have been a number of them painted in Luftwaffe-themed markings over the years, including: do you plan to do a repaint ? A LW repaint would round up the package. I will try soon.

Same here. I really appreciate your work, and your fortitude to continue. Happy to contribute anything within my means (monetarily - not really a tech guy, unfortunately) to support your data recovery.

To clarify... are you running P3Dv4 on a single core of your 6 core CPU? Also, is your CPU a "K"? Greg

You're much welcome, though I cannot take full credit for this since I learnt those tricks from having read them on this forum. There is an incredible amount of knowledge about CFS2 here, that's why I check this place so often, even if I cannot play CFS2 right now. :wavey:

This is not my experience. I found that when I used multiple cores the sim would stutter. I get best performance from single core operation at this time. And my PC is about 1 month old. Running an i7-8700.

I've been discussing with Joost the ? of winter scenery and the fact that associated 'buildings', especially trees (full green leaves!), are still in summer mode! Has anyone any ideas on how to make associated files have winter components, and I suppose what I really mean, is how to implement that in the game so they appear in the correct season?

They look great! Are these for the CA-27 Avon Sabre made by Tom Sanford a while ago, and based on Fox-Four's F-86E? He already did all the needed change to the DP and AIR files, adding the 30mm Aden cannon, AIM-9 Sidewinfer and higher thrust engine parameters.

Hi All, A while back I noticed that Jafo over at the FSX forum had done some textures of The Avon Sabre, CA-27, for the Section 8 F-86. With his gracious permission, I converted a couple of his textures for the CFS2 version. If anyone wants them, I'll do the others and upload them. I have to finish the dp to reflect the Aden 30mm cannon and TR's Aussie Aim-9 rockets and pylons. Thanks again Jafo. Cheers, Bub

If it was my money, I'd go for the 9900k. Higher clock freq. (and likely the better overclocker) still rules. Half the price and 2/3rds the power consumption of seals the deal.

First, the model.cfg was wrong, sorry about that. For the VVC Dak it should read: normal=EC47 interior=..\model\C47R_interior Unfortunately, the difference is only in the exterior; the Radar Goon has a slightly extended pointy nose. The VC is indeed either Jan's Vintage Virtual or the 'modern' MVC; neither has a weather scope.

Oops, sorry guys, yes, use the suggested edit to the model.cfg quoted here. Don't ask me how that could have happened.

Thanks Manfred for the two EC47's :encouragement: I went to the link for the history of the EC47 and noticed that there was a radar scope on the panel. I'm using P3D V3 and do not see any radar scope. In the electric or radar goons. Was there suppose to be a radar scope on the cockpit panel? Other then a difference on exterior tail markings, the cockpits look the same on both EC47's.
