In fact, I have a friend that was promoted to O-6 at 28 years. He was forced to retire at 30 years and did not have sufficient time in grade to retire as an O-6...he retired as an O-5! I had 18 years of service, less than 1 year time in grade and thanks to Clinton's RIF, I was able to retire as an O-5! Thanks Bill.

I don't own any of these planes, then I cannot speak about their performance. I have read a lot of feedbacks regarding the XTrem Prototypes Lear 25 and the FlySimWare Lear 35, and both were excellent on the feature and realism point of view, but I don't know anything about their impact on the FPS. Regarding Lionheart Lear 24, I would be cautious. If I remember correctly, this plane is the reason why the creator of this plane left this forum. People made some comments regarding the exterior model, more specifically the front/cockpit/nose sections which looked nothing like the real Lear 24 (proportions were totally wrong, front windows were too big etc...), and instead of acknowledging the problem, he got upset and left. I don't know if he has rectified the 3D model yet, but I...

Unrestricted line O-6s are permitted by statute to "hang around" for 30 years if not promoted (so long as they stay out of trouble). 10 U.S. Code § 634: Mandates retirement for O6s not on a promotion list to O7 after 30 years of active commissioned service, except for certain officers in the Navy or Marine Corps who are either limited duty officers or permanent professors at the United States Naval Academy.

Am I imagining this, or didn't I see something here some while ago about putting all Mike's models in the library here at SOH? If not, I suppose a search at AvSim or FlightSim for "Mike Stone" would find all of them. (Search only for complete models or the original models would be buried in page after page of repaints.)

Skids and dollies have been done on Me 263 Komets for FS before. Let me dig in my backups to see what I can find.

J, Thanks, you lucky so and so...!! I will make that pilgrimage from the UK one day, and will immerse myself in the Smithsonian and the Udvar Hazy for days and days lol. HJ, Well...the Ar234V1 was actually flown quite a few times with the dolly/trolley attached, and there were a few times with the other early V ac that the trolley accidentally stayed attached (see pic). MC, Scrubby was cheating! He keeps the scrape points for the skids, allowing the ac to sit on them and just has the trolley at the right height underneath (see pic). This could be made to work but as the Ar234 sits much higher off the ground it would look stupid with an unrealistically low trolley or very long and unrealistic skid extensions. Shessi

This is where I was last week. This is the Air India maintenance hangar at Mumbai (erstwhile Bombay). I was lucky I got this pic. Everything in India is guarded by guards and none of them like cameras. I figured I better put the camera away before I ended up in an Indian dungeon. I found out later this plane was being fitted out to be India's equivalent of "Air Force One". Oops... What a massive plane the 747 is!

Lionheart's performance of the plane, or its impact on the sim? The aircraft performance is what I would expect from an older jet. Spirited, but not blistering and you have the option for full manual operation as just about every switch in the VC works. As for how it is on the sim, I have an extremely modest setup and I don't get any FPS issues with my most of my sliders set at 50%. For $35 I don't think you would be disappointed.:jump:
