well, the mistery of self lit gauge screenshot is discovered. its about +nlight texture adds for CFS3 with Ankor Shaders. thank you mongoose to find that ;) I am taking this +nlight solution bit better comparing to the red light VC game hack, to see such lit gauge effect without pain. the +nlights will be used as the default night gauge solution for the Ar 234 add-on.

Ah the polycount thing is a good remark indeed... :dizzy: That being said, when we are in avatar mode, we go around the external model, not the interior (VC) one. Then you don't really need to put too much areas modeled in the VC model, then the impact on VR flight should not be too big... I hope :P

I find it interesting that Danica did not fare particularly well in the number 10 Stewart-Haas car, yet Aric in his first season in this car is doing very well. Aric did not do nearly as well in the years he was in the number 43 Richard Petty Motorsports car, I do not think that bodes well for Bubba.

I'm also watching the new sim with great interest. Their approach to the sim community is far better than Dovetail's, as they seem to understand the end user far better. I think it could easily become a strong rival to P3D as it develops, and it seems likely that the future really is VR as once you've done it, playing on a monitor just doesn't compare. The native VR set up of FFS blows P3D and X-Plane's out of the water :)

Hi Daube, Yes, I'm modelling the interior at the moment. The walkways, boarding ramp and cockpit floor will all be assigned the "concrete" material setting which should ensure that they can be walked upon in the normal way. The inside of the Falcon will only be lightly detailed though as the model is designed for VR and thus poly / vertice counts are always on my mind. :)

Yeah, I'm running an i7-2700k with GTX980 in a system built 6 1/2 years ago and I can run FSX, P3DV3, P3DV4 and X Plane 11 quite comfortably and can use the Oculus Rift very comfortably with DCS World and Aerofly FS2. I did add the GTX980 at a later date than the original build (about 2 years ago) because my original AMD7970 bit the dust. I have seen users with the i7-8700k and GTX1080 get triple digit frames with ease.

I do not use Ankor's shaders so only time will tell.Run Win 7 64bit. Have not run into any problems yet so far.Tried to get it to work on CFS3 but no luck so far. Must be doing something wrong installing it because i have no problems with WOFF.

that really depends on many other factors, hows the original airplane gmax/m3d mesh material settings, hows the current user CFS3 game config and also if you run the game on WinXP or later Win systems. in another word some airplane will look almost same or acceptable with/without "Ankors", some will be visually unusable without edits. however, I would always go the way to avoid of "hacking" the md3 files inside for material properities tweaks, just to solve it all with texture edits.

I've never done a walk around with any A2A aircraft, although I have had a few mishaps because of that... But I still prefer the A2A version over the Carenado one.

Indeed, and not a single one of us P3D simmers are entertained at all while flying that simulator :biggrin-new: Concerning the remarks from people who think they cannot update their computers to run P3D or any 64 bits sims, I understand that a full PC is quite a budget. I had to change my 9 years-old computer recently and that was a bug expense. But keep that in mind: - At some point in the past, you had to buy a computer to run what you're running now. - Computers are not eternal. - At some point in the not-so-distant future, your old computer is going to die, and you'll have to buy a new one. Or rent it (Shadow PC and such, maybe?) - Most of today's computers can run P3D quite well. - Most of 3-4 years-old hardware can run P3D quite well too, although not at max quality (but...

The early access version of Fly Inside Flight Sim is available now. Just $32, $25 if you've purchased any version of Fly Inside. It's of interest to FSX users for a number of reasons: It's 64-bit, but runs dramatically better on older systems than P3D or X-Plane because it's not based on legacy code. Supports modern graphics APIs and multi-threaded operations. 90 fps with details cranked and weather! It fully supports VR, but performs well on flat screens too The scenery engine looks great. The buildings, etc. are currently "developer art" and look like crap, but those are just placeholders and they'll be updated, and there's a scenery SDK. It's not add-on compatible with FSX per-se, but it's obviously not too hard to port stuff over given all the stock planes are payware FSX...

I have the Carenado 172N and really like it, and you get a version that works with FSX and all versions and editions of P3D, and you don't have to pay for Accu-sim that like you I did not want. I am waiting for the next Carenado sale to get there C172SP Skyhawk G1000 version.

+1 Same here. i7700k 4.2GHz non-oc, GTX1070. Frames locked at 60fps for completely smooth aerobatics and maneuvering. No cfg tweaking at all.
