I'm flying the original release version (got it as a beta tester). What switch do you guys use to see the HUD appear? I haven't flown it since I tested it - and that was a long time ago. Bill

I hear ya expat. . .I guess I've been lucky that the OOM problems were never an issue with FSX. . .for me at least. Other odd behavior and what I suspect were problem gauges that over time just became unusable. The fresh install, for the time being anyway, has calmed things down significantly. In the case of P3D_V4+, I haven't started it up since before Christmas, about the time I went to XP-11. I was really impressed with the Sim and the realism and detail. My enthusiasm for it waned considerably though when I found that whatever you knew about FSX and P3D as far as setting things up to your liking. . .is nothing like XP-11. . .also, for me, I was excited to be able to move my sceneries over to the new sim. . .nope. Scenery is handle completely differently and nothing that was done...

Naismith - very sorry to hear your loss(es) + do hope you might get the drive restored. What we all live in fear of . . Falcon - interesting, for me the answer to the glitches, odd behavior, not to mention too frequent CTD's and OOM's was P3D 64 bit. Haven't touched FSX in over two years. P3Dv4.5 with ActiveSky, FTX Global and Tomato Shade (and now with PBR coming in) is terrific. Not really been tempted by X Plane as have read there are some limitations.

Ouch, and you have a nice rig too. Any chance a computer geek might be able to "wake up" that drive long enough to salvage information? Don't know if that's possible really, but sorry to hear that.

I agree. There is so much depth to X-Plane 11 and now the freeware is catching up with the pay sites...especially in the scenery!

I just flew around it briefly with a helo so far and it was a bit heavy especially considering the region, but this is subjective since I have an old system. I am also attributing this to dynamic lighting capabilities but would have to look into it more. Something to keep in mind if you plan on bringing more complex/demanding aircraft into this airport.

Does anyone still have this repaint (Miss Virginia) lying around in a folder somewhere, the link to download that I've seen on other sites no longer works. Thanks Jamie

Bag your parden for long time to answer. I`m not at home for the last time. Will have a look for that update in future after ending some new carriers like the USS John F.Kennedy (CV-67) (need a permission to give it to everyone. Model is nearly ready), an the three LPH-4 Hornet (ex CV-21), LPH-5 Princeton (ex CV-37) and LPH-8 Valley Forge (CV-45). All modeling on these models is done... some textures to do for all different helicopter on deck. These models will come with different configuration (bridge, arming, helicopters) from timeline 1957-1970 (past Korea till Vietnam war period). Will show some pictures in the near future when home back again. greetings Klaus

The good news is that this version does indeed work in P3Dv4.5! For me waiting to see what P3Dv5 will bring until then... FSX-SE pic.

Thank you Ferry. I agree, the add-on content is the best and strangely weakest part of AC. The really good mods are just that, really good, but some of the ordinary mods are very ordinary. What I find attractive about ACC are the time and weather options, it annoys me when a circuit is posted with day and night options that don't work without additional packages. I've given up on RF2, despite the revised program and new (maybe different?) developers it's always crashing or not even loading, shame as I hooked up with the original RF2 at the very start. Time is always a problem which is why I'm only considering ACC at the moment........then again, one should never say never. :encouragement:
