No, they can be used in both sims. It is a tedious process and a lot easier once you know what to do. For the bow effect use this and then adjust to fit. These are for the Lex/Sara model..... Effect EffectName = fx_wake_bow_Zu EffectParameters = 0 General AttchPointName = attptbowwake Orientation = (leave as is) Position = (0.00; 72.70; 0.00)

Joe, I like the stack smoke and bow wave effects you used. Are they specific to P3Dv4.5 or also available in FSX? Unless I'm doing it the wrong way it seems like a tedious process to add the effects to the ships' .mdl files with MCX. Adjust x/y/z numbers, check placement, over and over... Finally save the mdl file and hope for no errors. I spent the wee hours of the morning today trying to add bow wave and smoke effects to a couple carriers. Had some success with the smoke but not the bow waves. :banghead:

I always like to think we'd stay and fight - and with a "regular" fire, we'd perhaps have a good chance of fending it off, but the new scenario, with higher temps, lower humidity drying everything out to explosive potential, and the winds driving the fireball through the treetops, now has us making plans to just throw the animals and motorbikes in the back of the van, hitch the caravan up and run! Apart from the fact we aren't getting any younger... We thought we had enough space around us, but, looking at some of the places that have burnt, short of laying down a square kilometer of concrete..........

Technically, the part in question is the Icara gun mount and frame. It was not always painted. The frame rotates ( clickspot for that is in the VC) using a clockwork mechanism (also works in the VC) , placing the universal ball mount anywhere in a 360 degree offset arc. So, if the gunner is concentrating on the left side of the aircraft, he can swing the gun and rotate the offset to get a much bigger field of fire. As the frame rotates, and it were painted, you could theoretically end up with sky blue underside paint n the top. We thought it best to keep it black. However, it can be painted but it will show the same paint in the inside.Hope that helps.:engel016:

An interesting short film from the AWM collection. Apart from the Beauforts the P-40 fuselage roundel is of interest. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/F03628/

Hallo Huub, hallo the experts, does any one how to make, or if it exists a switch or lever to command the oil cooler flaps of the WWII Fighters Messerschmitt Bf109E on a 2D panel? The "normal" cowl flaps are not a problem. But the oil cooler flap on this bird operates only by a virtual lever in the VC. I want also operate this flap via the 2D panel Yours Papi

Flight dynamics will reflect the real world as much as possible, allowing for the fact that completely original (as in the day) flying examples are non-existant. Most "modern" Hurricanes fly with different tractor units and other uprated systems.

Hi Elsner, Seeing as there are many options for sound in the "Settings" menu, it's really a matter of personal preference. If you are looking for a more realistic "full immersion" sound atmosphere I would think that outside sounds such as engine and effects would be lower while inside sound like cockpit and communications would be higher. Since CFS2 was written with stereo sound only, the headphones will only give you a deeper bass response that will also add to the realism. I use these type settings in my simpit although I don't use headphones, I have two front speakers with a sub-woofer under the seat. If realism is not that important to you, your best bet is to determine what sounds you want to hear the most, then adjust the settings accordingly.

I went back and checked, there's not module specific G-Vapor setting that I could find. I also reverted that mission back to the airborne turning point and there, the full vapor effect appeared when under high G loading. My guess is that there is some specific coding trigger which controls these effects that differentiates from the ground-takeoff/landing portion of the flight from the airborne portion and there may be a bug that is causing issues with the triggering of parts of the effects. Here is what I get when starting the missing in flight:

No kidding! I thought the same thing. I thought it was rather strange, but it's where it was in FS9 so I figured it was worth a try. Go figure. Glad you got it working, Stoney! Jorge Miami, FL
