Hi Folks; I would like to reach out to anyone familiar with the use of GMAX for generating facilities.xml files for use in CFS3 environment. I have been importing my airfields terrain and generating box objects place holders plotted onto the terrain. The resulting XML exports contain the required "X" and "Y" coordinates and the "Z" coordinate if specified is not generated in the XML output file. I have not yet been able to find a way to specify the "angle" field when creating my box objects and I am not sure if this is possible. The following represents a typical object plot entriy generated in the XML output. The Angle field is always generated as "0" (zero). <Unit Type="house_small" Position=" 347 61" Angle=" 0" />

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Civilian repaints Description: This is a High-Def repaint pack for the freeware FSN AT-802 SEAT (wheeled version). The AT-802 is widely used initial attack aircraft for aerial firefighting. It's most notable areas of operation are Canada, United States, and Australia. The 802s are uniquely capable of operations on rough strips for temporary refill sites. This capability is largely capitalized in Australia. In the United States, the 802s are contracted IA platforms for the USFS. Although, they are the smallest fixed wing air tanker in the US inventory, they are still widely used. The largest competitors of the 802s in the North American market are the Bombardier/Viking CL-415/215T variants and the Grumman/Marsh...

That looks to be VF-24 in the F-8J aircraft and markings of the early 70's - minus the red hockey stick that was painted on the tail when I was with them. When they flew F-8C's, the modex was in the 400 range. Will your VF-24 repaint work in P3D V3? Nice paint job :encouragement:

Thanks for this great new thread, DL Sorry, i'm a little bit late to the party, but during the weekend i hadn't much time. I have currently finished Pack 1 and pack2 with PBR texturing and installing the afterburner effects. Now I'm a little bit unsure whether to finish Pack3 and release all three PBR packs , or should I wait for JP's "Weapons Configurator" versions and then finish all three packs with the new feature. This would avoid, to do the conversions twice. btw all old repaints will work in the PBR version too.

While researching something totally unrelated I ran across the story of John C Morgan (Sgt./ Lt. Col). OK, so the ranks are a tale in itself... "Born August 24, 1914, in Vernon, Texas,...He worked in the Fiji Islands as a foreman on a pineapple plantation until 1938, when he returned to enlist as an aviation cadet in the U.S. Army Air Corps. However, because of his poor education record, he was refused enlistment. Working at an oil-drilling site for Texaco, Morgan suffered a broken neck in an industrial accident, and as a result was later classified 4-F by the Selective Service System. In August, 1941, Morgan joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, and after completion of flight training in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and RAF Church Lawford, England, was posted as a Sergeant...

Photobucket stopped being useful for image links a while back as they attempted to find a way to monetize their business. I'd suggest using imgur -- still free, still works well.

Thanks for clarifying the PBR model issue, JP. Yes, am looking forward to those, but the stores configuration is what I'm really stoked about. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with your layout /design for the stores selector. More intuitive than some payware I've had ... :running: The ECM pod (my mistake for earlier calling it the AN/ALQ-184 - that's the more recent version) - is "AN/ALQ-119", accuracy matters. No biggie if not. I know space is tight on the description field. I think there was an AIM-4 Falcon somewhere in Pack 2, (I'm admittedly less familiar with that pack) but I can't recall which model it was and I'm at work so can't check. Not that anyone would mourn if this loadout was omitted .... given how poorly that missile worked in combat conditions. ...

<br> Fibber<br> <br> The first version is not in the Library. I looked up and found Stuart's post on the first one. When I clicked on it. the message said it did not exit. The first version with all 9 ships is not in the library. What happened to it? Could someone send me a copy? Mack

There are tons of improvements for this game. Just spend some time browsing the Warbirds Library CFS2 sections here :adoration: There are very few campaigns that don't require downloads to take advantage of the many, many improvements by the SOH members. Usually, these would be the earliest ever made before there were many improvements available. A couple of exceptions would be TLoup's Vila campaign, and my 9th Fighter Squadron 49th Fighter Group in WWII campaign plus my Marine Fighting Squadron VMF121 which although they include improved planes, airbases etc., are self loading with only a few additional downloads required. Vila 9th FS ...

1: Yes, in the current form all old repaints can be used. 2: There certainly are more updates coming. First will probably be Ulrich's PBR models, then the "NG" version with configurable loadouts and improved cockpit functionality. After that - who knows? ;) -JP
