I think we found the high road. Going to see if we can scare up a turkey in far western China.

Hello Folks! Thank you for your birthday wishes! Better late than never! Iīm always late for this type of thing - I donīt know... terrible... Yes, thanks, we had a delicious special family lunch, and my present was an Arduino robotics starter kit which I was fiddling about with all day. For once, I forgot all about airplanes, and did 4 lessons of the course - with the programmable microcontroller I was lighting up LEDīs in different ways and measuring temperature too - quite fascinating! Letīs see if I can make a new speedometer for my old car once I learn enough. They are impossible to get second hand anymore, and are several thousand dollars new. Cheers, Aleatorylamp

Here is a reasonably good intro to V4 which explains why/how scenery & aircraft can be kept outside the sim thereby making reinstall much easier e.g. Have patience the presenter can be somewhat condescending but ultimately he is knowledgeable - probably because flight sim is his permanent job..... imagine that! :dizzy:

I have only had P3DV4 for a few days. As I understand it, V4 is a different animal from the previous versions; I am guessing because it is 64 bit? Anyway, are most FSX sceneries compatible? I also understand that AI compatibility is another matter altogether? Mostly I am interested in Naval Air Station sceneries. Thanks, NC:encouragement:

Whenever Keith posts a pic, I wonder if he is also modeling it for FS.:encouragement: Think this is a Mitsubishi Ki-33 of some sort? Edit: 3-bladed prop, maybe the A5M prototype?

This is a great add-on for "tailhooking" in FS9. Thank you Mick, and thanks again for your help in resolving my set-up problem. :encouragement:

Thanks for the suggestions Daube, First off I will be installing FSUIPC and AS2016, as I already purchased those a while ago for P3D. Then I will certainly have a look at the two suggestions you made. Guess, I have a lot of installing and seting up to do before I can really start enjoying this (for me) new simulator.

I agree. Cowlings are often subtle forms that are difficult to shape accurately. Gaston's modeling is superb.

Got it. I have not had a chance to run the updated version about yet. I have most of the relevant technical data on the C-46 (some useful stuff from the USAF) and the FAA. It was clear when you had a close read of the data this was not a hot and high aeroplane but worked fine at low altitudes but was not a great performer which is hardly surprising given its size and weight (should have had 4 engines not 2). The notes about engine specs, AIR file data is spot on, amazing how so many developers get this wrong, which I guess is down to a lack of understanding of how piston engines work and the FSX engine which makes it happen. Thanks.

Hi Pat, Sue, Sorry, this fuelstat gauge wasn't mine. I think this is an old FS2002 gauge created by Robert Guy. I don't know who bundled it with my GH5 package, but this is coded in C(++); I only program XML gauges. So I can't help you with an P3Dv4 update for it. Rob
