I'm looking for ways to improve/change the city textures and came across this interesting thread yesterday. https://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/128159-New-Landclasses-xml?highlight=landclasses I did a rough texture rework of Pat's largecitytrees01 texture and decided to do some work on the 031summer3 textures. I traced what I could of the roads mask texture which was not much and poor quality. I created a texture to be viewed in-game and took screenies. The house positions assisted in placing quite a few extra roads where I thought they might work. The result is a bit unrefined but a good start I think. A rough wip texture rework of the largecities texture. Adding roads to the 031summer3 roads traced texture with the help of a screenshot. This is obviously...

I've been in the new apartment for a little over 2 weeks now but getting back to Flight Sim has been a low priority til now. I have found another airport to work on and it should be fairly easy to finish as it will be daytime only and just Spring, Summer and early Fall. Also there are very few buildings at this field so that should cut down on building time quite a bit. This one is located in Texas and while I've never heard of it, it seems to be very popular. I've posted an early image so maybe some one from the area might recognize it. Texas-2023-nov-18-001 by Ed Wells, on Flickr More later!

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons Description: Marine Fighting Squadron VMF-121, 2023 A historical campaign for Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2 This campaign is Version 2 which is updated to use UncleTgt’s Solomons scenery and the aircraft and ships with the best, most recent models. It recreates VMF-121’s war time experience as close to the historical record as possible within CFS2 limitations. It is also compatible with the 87 Days of Cactus Campaign and the two can be loaded together. The missions are recreations of the actual missions VMF-121 flew. Because of the file size, it is uploaded in two parts. This is part 1. To check it out, rate it or add comments, visit Marine Fighting Squadron VMF-121, 2023 part 1 The comments...

Just tried using the DC-3 for flight today and couldn't get the classic or retro-fit autopilots systems to function. Tested on several flight attempts including restarting MSFS and uninstall & re-install of the DC-3 and DC-3 enhanced packages. Retrofit: VS digits flicker and dance between different numerical values. "AP" light comes on, but Hdg & Nav functions do not light up or engage. Altitude setting impossible because of the VS/Alt numbers spazing out. Classic: Ap engages, but as soon as it does, the Elevator adjust rotates all the way to the stop and won't move back. Aircraft goes into a decent that can only be canceled by shutting off the AP. Aircraft doesn't lock on to any heading and keeps circling. I just used the DC-3 without issues a little while back. I think the...

Good morning. Iris Simulations has released their T-6B, and it is available at this link: https://store.irissimulations.com.au/product/iris-airforce-series-texan-ii/ Seems fairly systems intensive, and I flew it around the pattern a couple of times. Nice flight characteristics...very nice cockpit and external textures. Dave (Smudge) and the Iris crew look to have done a wonderful (as usual) on this. Kent

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Military aircraft Description: The Westland Whirlwind was a British twin-engined fighter developed by Westland Aircraft. A contemporary of the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane it was the first single-seat, twin-engined, cannon-armed fighter of the Royal Air Force When it first flew in 1938 the Whirlwind was one of the fastest combat aircraft in the world and with four 20 mm Hispano-Suiza HS.404 autocannon in its nose, the most heavily armed.Protracted development problems with its Rolls-Royce Peregrine engines delayed the project and only 114 Whirlwinds were built. During the Second World War only three RAF squadrons were equipped with the aircraft and despite its success as a fighter and ground...

A new airfield for you. using the objects Kdriver adapted from Clive (Pat Pattle) Morley CFS3 objects, both forum member's, thanks guys. A civil airfield originally, sometimes used by airliners as a diversionary airfield for Croydon. Requisitioned by the RAF in 1939 and became an 11 sector airfield as a satellite for Biggin Hill. Gravesend developed into an extensive fighter airfield with extended runways, blisterhangers and blast pens. and i may revisit in the future, but for now we have Gravesend as it looked in spring 1940
