Hairyspin, Where do I get this "Gmax via the BFF script for animating and export to CFS3" from as I would much rather use 3ds Max for the build then just use Gmax to animate etc then export to CFS3. Dave

Oliver, it isn't that hard. Takes patience.... lots and lots and looooooots of patience mate. I started out being asked to build a C-Type hanger that had doors open and could be taxied through, so that was my very first model in CFS3. It got used a lot if I remember rightly. I had an image of me flying a Lancaster through it, lol. Make something simple, even if it already exists in CFS3 and learn to export etc. You'll soon pick it up, if I could do it then anyone can mate. Dave

Wow, Glad I haven't come across this problem as yet. I installed straight to Program Files (x86) and it has run perfectly from the get go. I run the OpenGL driver as this allows the better res which I use when using background images in 3DS Max too. Images below of install. First is installed address on my C: drive. Second is Gmax working... That being said it hasn't crashed yet which I am waiting for as 3DS Max likes to do this.

Very envious of those who can build aeroplanes for CFS3. Last aircraft I built I used balsa wood and tissue paper! :biggrin-new:

Hi guys, Since yesterday, all my planes are working again but with, in the cockpit, a wind noise directly related to the engine speed. No noise with the engine stopped, a slight breath at idle and a hurricane at full throttle. The noise is so loud that I have to cut the sound with the Q key. In external view everything is ok, the engine sounds are normal. Perfect to make screenshots but very bad in the cockpit... I don't have to tell you that I don't understand anything ... The only thing I did the day before yesterday was uninstall and reinstall an update for the ActiveSky connection: ASConnect for P3Dv4 The update had been done on May 1, the day before my first issue. Did you do the same update before the problems started? Cheers zinj

So long as you havenít got to animating stage, you can still build and map in Max then punt the mesh to Gmax via the BFF script for animating and export to CFS3. Vertex limits havenít changed since the old days, just the machines can crank high- poly models more easily than Pentium processors did in the years BC (before coronavirus...). Youíll probably be running Windows 10 now, so check the Aircraft Design and Animation forum for the Gmax/Win10 wrinkles and getting around them. Fixing Gmax Viewport Leftover Syndrome

Great work! :) There should be a separate layer of the two-tone grey in the paint kit with no dirt, and panels and rivets should also be in a separate layer group. It's possible though that I've missed the plain background out amid all the complexity of producing the final release - I'll check when I get chance. If it's missing, I'll ensure it's added to the next update.

I suspect it is just me but is anybody else having problems with the wing lights? When I operate the wing light switch the wing vapour effect appears when I am not moving but I can't get the lights on. I tried shift+L with no joy. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Regards Paul Day.

Just stopped by again. I think the reason Aerosoft didn't put a VASI on Rwy 22 is because there isn't one. There is what is known as a PVASI or Pulsating Visual Approach Slope Indicator. It is set for a 3-degree glideslope and the single light rapidly flashes white if high, slow white flash if on glideslope, slow red flash if slightly low and rapid red flash if too low. I don't think there is one in FS, at least I haven't encountered one. But some sort of VASi there would have been nice. Otherwise it's a great free addition. ---- I stand corrected. There is one at the default Catalina in P3Dv4. Not sure about FSX though. :ernaehrung004:

Yeah, me too. I wanted to do an Air Superiority Blue scheme, even though it was only on early A models. I've always liked that scheme. I was also going to do a Vietnam era texture, because I was thinking of the North American F-X mock up in those colors. Of course, I saw someone already did it for the DCS F-15, but I don't fly DCS. Nice work on the Compass Gray Scheme hschuit. Ken

Great scheme there. I thought the same when I looked over the paintkit, a little disappointing as it requires a lot more work as the layers need to be separated out in order to make a nice looking paint. I still haven't painted anything because of this reason, every time I look at it I just can't build up the motivation to separate everything before I even start painting.
