I'm still plugging away at converting ships for my "FSX Sailing" project. This past weekend, I finally was able to realize one of my biggest desires -- getting the beautiful pre-war U.S. Battleships into the game. I've still got to create the smoke & lights effects but thanks to the folks here who updated the many odler CFS2 ships in recent years, some of those beautiful ships are once again sailing my seas. Here's a few shots of my first tests showing the USS Pennsylvania and the USS Tennessee -- one more was included but now can't recall which class. Anchors Aweigh!

This project is still in progress. Every few months I've been learning/trying new ideas and tools. I've had a scenery file that I couldn't seem to get to cooperate with me but this past weekend (thanks to some wonderful support over at FS Developers forum) I've finally made some progress last! I now have a collection of twenty additional icebergs to populate my oceans! Here's a few examples:

I have to say, I am still not satisfied with the spiral spinners. No doubt some of it is the way the prop is animated. I am still searching for an improvement to the blurred and slow spinner texturing. More to come once I find something better. Great aircraft with the challenging takeoff. From what I have read there were almost as many casualties on the ground as in the air.

The engine tech these days are phenomenal! I built a large scale P-40 and Corsair many years ago, but if today I would have this KOLM flat 6 for the P-40. Sounds authentic on the ground but would change the exhaust to individual stacks.

Yep that is huge for a fighter. I have the Ziroli 125 inch B25, I'm building it from scratch. It will be fiberglassed when done. I also have his P40, F4U Corsair, And a Grumman Goose i am building from plans i had blown up to a 115 inch wing span.....I have already bought the engines for the B25 and the Corsair. but at 2.500 per engine....all 3 are 9 cyl Radials. This video shows off their 7 cyl engine....:very_drunk::very_drunk: And here is their web site......

The problem with the Warthog HOTAS (and the Cougar, still a few on eBay - I remember when it first came out, how I drooled over one...) is that I don't have space for rudder pedals and hate those rocker switches on the throttle. I vastly prefer a twist-axis for my rudder inputs (Like my Sidewinder FFB Pro). I'm looking into the Logitech x56 - but the few reviews I can find say it's build quality isn't nearly good enough. -sigh- So, honestly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

If you're looking at the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog I can vouch that it is well worth the expense. It is a large initial outlay, but the quality is superb, and the functionality is also excellent. You should not need to buy a new controller for many, many years. It is awesome having a replica of the Warthog's controls when you are flying the Warthog, and I just recently read that the F-16 stick and the Warthog stick are actually the same.

Volume 1 contains the Nimitz & Ike with their airwings. Volume 2 will contain CVN-70 through 72 and Volume 3 CVN-73 through 75. They will be stand-alone packages and are for the people that want to round out their collection or want specific ships from the class. The ships cost as much as an aircraft because they were created with that kind of detail. Well, and the crew kind of felt so too... Joking aside, the customer isn't buying one or two ships. He's the one who's looking for a high-detail ship with realistic behaviour, but is also interested in spending time ON the ship, not just fly around it. These ships are the most accurate models currently available (including DCS), carefully crafted from the ship's fire extinguishers to the layout of the hangar. High quality models...

Right, get yourself into the back seat by hitting the "A" key repeatedly. Look down until you see the radar scope. To the left of the scope is the radar control box. The bottom-left rotary control is labelled 'power'. Three right clicks until it is pointing at "oper". The bottom-right rotary control now. Two right clicks to "radar". It'll come up with a fast, narrow sweep. The control immediately above will change to 'wide sweep'. The top right control is for the radar range. That's it.

Hi Stuart, These files are at Simviation. I've just checked the Alcor from there and there are no odd ssi files. So an easy fix! Most of their files are there for Fs9 and FSX. Cheers Shessi

Good morning, Here is the last mission between the British and Germans. Now it's onto 10 May in Holland. :wiggle: "title_string"=BoF Jagdgeschwader - Spoiling the landing party "summary_string"=Guten Morgen! Reports have come in about British destroyers landing fresh troops just off the coast of The Hague, in an attempt to bolster the Dutch defense. The ships are being covered by fighters. You will find and shoot down the British fighters, so that our Stukas can come in and sink the enemy ships! Let's show the British that their effort will not succeed! "objective_string"=On 12 May 1940, the Royal Navy attempted to land Royal Marines ashore at The Hague by destroyers which were positioned offshore, covered by three Blenheims of 235 Sqn. Eight Bf-109s engaged them just off of the...
